TOAST, USC and Columbia’s Premiere Improve Troupe Brings Laughs to Trustus Theatre on January 22

While the streets of the Vista are bustling with people hopping from bar to bar seeking nightlife and entertainment, Trustus Theatre will provide both as the bar opens and TOAST, Columbia and USC's premiere improve troupe takes the stage. Toast will perform an evening of improv comedy on Friday, January 22nd at 11:15pm. The doors will open at 10:45pm, following the performance of RENT.

TOAST is a long-standing fixture in Columbia improv. Started many years ago by students at USC who have long gone on to careers in improv and stand-up comedy all over the nation. The current line-up includes an array of talented and eclectic improv performers who keep the audiences in the aisles with their short-form sharp-witted comedy. They have also travelled to North Carolina to participate in the Carolina Comedy Arts Improv Festival.

For those unfamiliar with the world of Improv, they are probably familiar with the popular television show Whose Line Is It Anyway?, a short form improv comedy show on many networks now in syndication. Much like with that show, TOAST invites the audience to supply suggestions which become the jumping off point of short hilarious scenes which are created in the moment in front of the audience's eyes.

Toast performs Friday, January 22nd at 11:15pm. Doors open at 10:45pm following the performance of RENT. Hopeful attendees are encouraged to arrive early as TOAST is known to pack the house of the Trustus Main Stage for every performance. Don't miss a unique late night option in entertainment right here in the Capital City. The cost is $5.

Trustus Theatre is located at 520 Lady Street, behind the Gervais St. Publix. Parking is available on Lady St. The main stage entrance is located on the Publix side of the building.
