Centre Stage was a fundraising event organised by Sannette van der Mescht in aid of Cape Town City Ballet, South Africa's premier ballet company founded in 1934. The event featured 365 dancers-in-training and full-time students aged 5 to 25 in 20 choreographed works spanning classical ballet, jazz, musical theatre, and African contemporary dance. Retired Cape Town City Ballet principal dancer Laura Bosenberg served as ambassador, and guest performers Hannah Ward and Zac Healey appeared in an excerpt from Orpheus in the Underworld. The event was supported by more than 20 dance training organisations and tertiary programmes across the Western Cape.
