Lefra Productions in association with Prism Music Group and Treadwells are pleased to announce that the international renowned group, The Drifters, will be touring South Africa from 3 to 13 April as part of their 60th Anniversary World Tour, The Drifters Diamond Dynasty World Tour. This will be The Drifters' first visit to South Africa in over 30 years, featuring the current line-up, Pierre Herelle, Michael Williams, Ryan King and Carlton Powell, who themselves received gold disks from Sony for the first new recordings in over 30 years in 2013.

The Drifters' tour programme in South Africa is as follows: · 3 April - Boardwalk Casino, Port Elizabeth
· 5 April - ABSA KKNK, Oudtshoorn
· 6 April - Carnival City, Brakpan/Johannesburg
· 10 April - Sand du Plessis Theatre, Bloemfontein (Bookings at PACOFS - 051 447 7772)
· 12 April - Aula Theatre, University of Pretoria
· 13 April - Good Hope Centre, Cape Town

The Drifters will be running a number of schools workshops while they are touring South Africa. 'In a time where reality TV often gives children a false impression of life in performance, this programme aims to give children a more accurate overview of what happens in the music industry,' says Kathy Mashadi, Managing Director of the Prism Music Group. 'From what is involved in preparing for a performance through to the actual show itself, giving them a real opportunity to perform as part of a world class production. It is an experience they never forget.'

Primary schools can apply to be part of these Drifters workshops that will be presented by The Drifters free of charge. Twenty kids per school between 10-14 will be allowed and schools should identify learners interested in the music industry. Although not a prerequisite, learners should have some music background as certain identified learners and schools will be identified to perform with The Drifters at certain shows.
