New Musical Theatre Festival for the Galloway Theatre, 26 - 28 June 2014

The Galloway Theatre in association with the Waterfront Theatre College, Rolska Productions and Steven van Wyk are pleased to announce a festival of three new musical theatre productions prior to the National Arts Festival in Grahamstown.

The Waterfront Theatre College will present ADAM AND EVE: THE MUSICAL! by Ben Hale, with original vocal arrangements and musical direction by Jaco Griessel. A tongue-in-cheek look at the original love story, ADAM AND EVE is set on the morning after the night before and one thing is certain - something has changed. This is not Eden anymore! How do Adam and Eve move forward? How do they embrace the unknown future? How can they survive the change? This smash hit from the Edinburgh Fringe Festival is a contemporary exploration of our beginnings and suggests how best to ensure a happy ending. Directed by Paul Griffiths, the Waterfront Theatre College continues to stimulate and showcase musical theatre development for a new generation of musical theatre performers.

ROLSKA Productions presents YOU BET YOUR LIFE!, a new musical performed by fresh young talents Amy Trout (KAT AND THE KINGS), Roland Perold (I LOVE YOU, YOU'RE PERFECT, NOW CHANGE) and Steven van Wyk (DIRTY DANCING and SUNSET BOULEVARD). A witty, all-new, all-South African musical comedy with music and lyrics by Roland Perold and David Fick (who also directs), YOU BET YOUR LIFE! is a rib tickling ride on a TV game show with a twist, featuring catchy original show tunes that are guaranteed to get your feet tapping.

BEARABLE BROADWAY stars Steven van Wyk and Martin Harding as stewards on Air Bear - watch as they turn your in-flight safety demonstration into a cabaret extravaganza! Find sitting through THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA grizzly? Can't bear CATS? Well this is Broadway, baby, so grin and bear it! Buckle up tight and prepare for take-off through a series of warped show tunes. There are no economy seats on this flight so kick back (in true A CHORUS LINE style) and enjoy the leg room!

ADAM AND EVE: THE MUSICAL! runs at the Galloway Theatre from 26 - 27 June at 20:00, with an age restriction of PG 10. YOU BET YOUR LIFE! and BEARABLE BROADWAY are being presented as a double bill on 28 June, both with a PG age restriction.
