Journey Back in Time with BACK-2-SCHOOL BOOGIE at Artscape Opera House

Memory Lane has never sounded this good! Imagine a real trip down memory lane straight to the groovy disco era of the 1970s and 1980s. What about the time when Motown reigned supreme? Throw in the 1990s, the noughties, and now - and the Artscape Opera House will be all set for BACK-2-SCHOOL BOOGIE this December.

Over the last few years GANARAMA Productions took audiences on similar journeys with the acclaimed BOOGIE WONDERLAND and BLAME IT ON THE BOOGIE. This year, BACK-2-SCHOOL BOOGIE promises an even bigger, more exciting journey with a show that hopes to guarantee a party from its opening number right through to the finale. The show will feature hits made famous by Queen, Donna Summer, Michael Jackson, The Beatles, Tina Turner, Gloria Gaynor, Earth, Wind and Fire, Kool and the Gang, Barry White, Whitney Houston, Elton John and Shirley Bassey - just a few of the artists whose music will allow audiences to boogie to for two solid hours. Inimitable duo,Gary Naidoo and Rafiek Mammon, will again be filling the directors' chairs. The ever-entertaining and ever-engaging Naidoo will lead the pack of performers.

BACK-2-SCHOOL BOOGIE is also a chance for audience members to to re-live the golden years of decades past, by donning their old school uniforms or designing a completely new one. A head girl and a head boy will be crowned at every show, where words like boogie', 'groovy', 'funky' 'sugar' and 'get down' will once again be rank highly in everyone's vocabulary.

BACK-2-SCHOOL BOOGIE - the party audiences will not want to miss and a perfect opportunity for high school reunion groups - runs at the Artscape Oper House from 4 - 6 December. Tickets are R125 at Artscape Box Office, Dial-a-Seat and Computicket Outlets.
