It has been years since estranged half-sisters Samsinar and Dahlia last saw each other. Born of fathers of different heritage, the two were separated during childhood when Dahlia's took her with him. Now, reunited for the first time since their mother passed away, the walls of emotion starts crumbling down as the women meet; in the confines of their old place, they begin to share their pain and anguish with one another, and their yearning to be a family again. Can love set them free from the shackles of heartache and misery that has held them captive for years?
Through a series of flashbacks, My Daddy... Bapak Aku… Mak Kita… explores the complexities of love that brings two kindred souls together and throws questions of identity, familial ties, and patriotism. First staged in Malaysia in 2012 by STEFANI Events and Masakini Theater, this emotional drama by Iryanda Muliafeatures Malaysia’s leading actresses of Malay and English theatre, Fauziah Nawi and Sabera Shaik.
