Underscore Theatre and The Den Theatre are pleased to present an all-new staging of the Jeff Award-nominated Best New Musical HAYMARKET (formerly Haymarket: The Anarchist's Songbook) the true story of Chicago's infamous Haymarket massacre. With book, music and lyrics by Alex Higgin-Houser and David Kornfeld, the actors accompany themselves to the stirring folk-infused score. Having spent the last two years workshopping the show, the authors alongside director Nick Thornton and musical director Robert Ollis have crafted an all-new theatrical experience - creating new songs, overhauling the book, and like the union workers from the show, building anew.

Vassar & New York Stage and Film present the 28th Powerhouse Theater season workshop MURDER BALLAD, starring Tony nominees Daniel Breaker (Passing Strange; Shrek: The Musical) and Will Swenson (Hair; Priscilla Queen of the Desert) as well as Dee Roscioli (Wicked) and Rebecca Naomi Jones (American Idiot; Passing Strange). The indie rock musical Murder Ballad is written by award-winning playwright Julia Jordan (Tatjana in Color; Sarah, Plain and Tall) and Juliana Nash (frontwoman for the indie rock band Talking to Animals), directed by Trip Cullman (Lonely, I'm Not; Assistance; A Small Fire). [title of show] is a musical about two guys named Jeff and Hunter by two nobodies named Jeff and Hunter.In 2004, the real Jeff and Hunter decided to enter the inaugural New York Music Theatre Festival (NYMF). The problem was, they didn't have a musical. With a deadline set, three weeks later they entered [title of show], named after the first line in the festival application form. Following its debut at NYMF, [title of show] enjoyed an acclaimed run at the Vineyard Theater Off-Broadway in 2006, and the release of an Original Cast Album that same year. They fulfilled their Broadway aspirations July 2008, where [title of show] ran for over 100 performances starring the writers themselves. The Magnormos season is the first production outside of the USA.

Audiences, including Kylie and Dannii Minogue, Natalie Imbruglia, Stephen Fry, David Hasselhoff, Kate Beckinsale and Whoopi Goldberg, have been ?shaking their groove thing' at the Palace Theatre since the hit show opened in March this year.
