Raven Theatre will continue its 2019-20 season with Katori Hall's drama HOODOO LOVE, directed by Wardell Julius Clark with music direction by The Ricky Harris. This spellbinding, blues-filled tale about the danger of our desires will play October 31 – December 15, 2019 on Raven's intimate 56-seat Schwartz Stage, 6157 N. Clark St. (at Granville) in Chicago. Winner of the 2014 NYMF Developmental Reading Series, this Latin infused American musical is inspired by the true story of a Princeton Undergrad who was an undocumented child immigrant from the Dominican Republic. When Manuel gets a scholarship to study at Oxford, he's faced with the realization that he can't leave the USA. He takes on The Statue of Liberty in the fight of a lifetime; the high-stakes boxing match that is immigration today. Is Manuel worthy? No one is spared in this political comedy that pulls no punches about immigration reform and the American Dream.

USELESS, Saviana Stanescu's dark-humored drama about human trafficking, ends its limited run at IRT Theater, downtown Manhattan. The production directed by Jose Zayas, starring Ana Grosse, Andy Phelan, and Steven Rishard, featured creative work by designers: Susan Zeeman Rogers (Set), Ryan O'Gara (Lighting), David Margolin Lawson (Sound), and Lisa Renee Jordan (Costumes). No Strings Theatre Company presents 'The Same Life Over' written and directed by Mark Medoff. The play opens Friday, September 25 and runs through Sunday, October 11 at the Black Box Theatre, 430 N Downtown Mall in Las Cruces.

The brand new production of GREASE, stars American Idol winner Taylor Hicks alongside Eric Schneider as 'Danny' and Emily Padgett as 'Sandy.' Eric made his Broadway debut in Jersey Boys. His previous credits include Altar Boyz (Off-Broadway) and the national tours of Altar Boyz and The Full Monty. Emily made her Broadway debut in GREASE, where she understudied the role of Sandy. Her other credits include Legally Blonde on Broadway and the national tours of CATS. Starring as 'Rizzo' will be Allie Schulz, a contestant on NBC's 'Grease: You're the One That I Want.' Allie comes directly from the Broadway company of GREASE.

After the curtain call for the Tuesday, October 7th Broadway performance of Grease at Brooks Atkinson Theater, Olivia Newton-John returned to Rydell High and joined the cast to promote Breast Cancer Awareness.

On September 11th, 2008 the smash hit Broadway production of Grease welcomed 'American Idol' Season Five finalist, Ace Young, in his Broadway debut as 'Kenickie' at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre. To celebrate, the cast and crew went to Planet Hollywood in Times Square where he presented the famous restaurant with his T-Bird leather jacket for their Broadway Memorabilia Museum.
