The Palace Theatre. An engagement to appear before an audience at that aptly named showplace, where the kings and queens of vaudeville would hold court on a 2-a-day schedule, was once the Holy Grail of show business. 'Playing The Palace' was the dream of every vaudeville performer and the term is still used today to describe someone who has reached the top of their profession. And for those who headlined at The Palace… Well, having top billing at The Palace used to mean that you were among the best stage performers that American entertainment had to offer.

BroadwayWorld.com has confirmed the news that Laura Bell Bundy will be briefly returning to the role of Elle Woods, taking over the part on tour, temporarily replacing Becky Gulsvig who has broken a toe. Bundy is currently flying to Washington, DC, the tour's current stop through tomorrow and will begin performances on January 13, 2009 in East Lansing, Michigan, the tour's next stop. The length of her stay has not yet been revealed.

After 595 performances and 30 previews, LEGALLY BLONDE THE MUSICAL plays its final performance today, Sunday October 19th. The musical will continue to play across the country, in over 35 cities, on its first national tour.

Paper Mill Playhouse (Mark S. Hoebee-Artistic Director, Mark W. Jones-Executive Director) just announced Bailey Hanks of Broadway's Legally Blonde will star as 'Sharpay' in Paper Mill's upcoming production of Disney's High School Musical. The rest of the cast will be announced later this week.

Orfeh, aka Paulette in the Broadway musical Legally Blonde, had her very own portrait unveiled at the popular theater district Italian eatery, Tony's DiNapoli to celebrate the upcoming release of her new solo album, What Do You Want From Me, on September 30. Tony DiNapoli's is located at 147 43rd Street. The hosts for the evening were radio personality Valerie Smaldone and Tony DiNapoli's General Manager, Bruce Dimpflmaier.
