Working with August Wilson from 1996 until his death, David designed the premire productions of Wilson's later works, including King Hedley II, Jitney, Gem of the Ocean, and Radio Golf, the latter two of with each garnered him Tony nominations. He later earned a Master of Fine Arts degree in theater from Columbia University.
