The award-winning live-looping hip-hop musical MEXODUS, written and performed by Brian Quijada and Nygel D. Robinson, will play a limited run at Chicago's historic Studebaker Theater, presented by P3 Productions and Audible.

Nygel D. Robinson stuns the audience at Mexodus every night by ending the show with 'A Dios.' Mexodus has shared a first look at the musical's co-creator belting out the song at the Daryl Roth Theatre, where it just extended through Sunday, June 14. 

Tony Award-winning sound designer Mikhail Fiksel discusses his work on Mexodus and how live looping functions as the foundation of the production. A four-week extension has been announced for the return off-Broadway engagement of the acclaimed musical, Mexodus. Due to popular demand, tickets are now on sale for performances through Sunday, June 14.

Brian Quijada and Nygel D. Robinson discuss the return of MEXODUS to the New York stage and the musical’s growing audience following Lin-Manuel Miranda’s visit during its Minetta Lane run. The creators also share insights from the recording studio as the live-looping production is adapted for an Audible release. Audible will return to SXSW for 2026. This year, Audible’s SXSW programming features narrative non-fiction, stand-up comedy, and more. Programming will include “Mexodus: A Musical Journey Across Borders,” featuring the live-looping hip-hop musical.
