A limited run of Robert Anderson's 1968 play I NEVER SANG FOR MY FATHER, directed by Richard Hoehler will play at The Chain Theatre at 312 West 36th Street, 4th floor between 8th and 9th Avenues. Performances will be Thursday through Saturday at 8:00 PM, and Sundays at 3:00 PM, September 5 through 22, 2019. Tickets ($25 General Admission, $15 Students/Seniors) are available for advanced purchase at www.chaintheatre.org. The performance will run approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes with one 15-minute intermission.

A BRONX TALE is a musical adapted from a film that was once a one man show written by Chazz Palminteri. The Broadway Smash premiered with previews on November 3, 2016, and officially opened December 1, 2016 at the Longacre Theatre. Launching its North American Tour in the Fall of 2018 the musical features music written by Alan Menken, with lyrics by Glenn Slater and book written by the original one man show stopper Chazz Palminteri. While on its tour stop in Tampa at the David A. Straz, Jr. Center for the Performing Arts, we as the opening-night audience were truly thrust into Old City New York full of Mobsters and Italian lessons to boot.

A crown jewel of grand opera, La Traviata tells the story of the brilliant and beautiful Parisian courtesan Violetta Valery as she falls in love with Alfredo Germont. Haunted by her reputation and illness, Violetta navigates sexual politics and confronts societal expectations as she braves a broken heart. A widowed New York college professor, Gene, is in a long distance relationship with a woman in California. He wants to marry and move to California, where his girlfriend has her medical practice and is raising her children. Gene's mother is sympathetic although aware of the toll it could take on his father. Family tensions arise as his father disowned his sister for marrying a Jewish man. When his mother suddenly dies, Gene's plans are thrown into disarray. He has lived in the shadow of his towering father, who is expecting him to stay and watch over him. Gene must decide for himself if he'll stay to care for his father or finally move on with his life.
