YALE REPERTORY THEATRE (James Bundy, Artistic Director; Victoria Nolan, Managing Director) announces complete casting and the creative team for the world premiere of POP!, a new musical with book and lyrics by Maggie-Kate Coleman and music by Anna K. Jacobs, directed by Mark Brokaw. POP! will play for 22 performances only, November 27-December 19. Opening Night is Thursday, December 3.

'Hooray for Joey Slotnick!' Director Henry Wishcamper has tapped Chicago native Joey Slotnick for the lead role of the African explorer 'Captain Jeffrey T. Spaulding'-the heightened vaudevillian persona created by Groucho Marx for the 1929 stage and screen original-in Goodman Theatre's season opening musical Animal Crackers, written by George S. Kaufman and Morrie Ryskind, with music and lyrics by Bert Kalmar and Harry Ruby.

Lipuma announce the World Premiere of A Minister's Wife, a new musical adapted from George Bernard Shaw's Candida, conceived and directed by Michael Halberstam with musical direction by Richard Casey. A Minister's Wife was adapted by Austin Pendleton with music by Joshua Schmidt and lyrics by Jan Tranen.

Village Theatre KIDSTAGE Ensemble produces You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown, running April 10-20, 2008 at the Everett Performing Arts Center. Based on the classic Charles M. Schultz's Peanuts comic strip, this award-winning musical is told through a series of songs and vignettes that mimic the four-panel format used by the original cartoon strip. The KIDSTAGE production is based on the 1999 revival of the musical which received two Tony Awards. The revival version of the show has been updated and re-orchestrated since the original production; it has challenging four part harmonies and contemporary pop rhythms.

Playhouse on the Green, a 228-seat theater located in the heart of downtown Bridgeport, has named Matt Schicker its new producing artistic director. Schicker will oversee all aspects of the Playhouse's operations, including producing a season of plays and musicals and a new summer theater day camp program for kids and teenagers.
