Playhouse on the Green, a 228-seat theater located in the heart of downtown Bridgeport, has named Matt Schicker its new producing artistic director. Schicker will oversee all aspects of the Playhouse's operations, including producing a season of plays and musicals and a new summer theater day camp program for kids and teenagers.

The New Mel Brooks Musical Young Frankenstein, a new musical comedy from the creative team of the 12-time Tony Award winning smash The Producers, will open on Broadway November 8th 2007 at the Hilton Theatre (213 W 42nd St). Previews begin October 11th 2007. Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice, writers of the 2006 Tony Award-winning Best Musical, Jersey Boys, are the librettists for THE ADDAMS FAMILY, Drama Desk Award-winning composer/lyricist Andrew Lippa (The Wild Party) is writing the score, and Improbable Theater founders Phelim McDermott and Julian Crouch (Shockheaded Peter) will direct and design.
