In the process, he invites us to fall in love with the art form all over again by showing us how musicals happen, what makes them work, how they captivate audiences, and how one landmark show leads to the next-by design or by accident, by emulation or by rebellion from OKLAHOMA! to HAMILTON and onward.

Combined together, the resumes of actress Tracy Lynn Olivera and director/choreographer Marcia Milgrom Dodge feature just about every great musical from the golden age of Broadway, except one.

The 1975 smash hit Broadway musical A CHORUS LINE truly is a singular sensation. After winning nine Tony Awards and a Pulitzer Prize (one of only eight musicals to do so), it ran for 15 years, making it the longest running musical on Broadway at the time (it still ranks as number six). I've been waiting almost seven years for a local production of A CHORUS LINE, since seeing the Broadway revival tour in 2009. The Ordway Center for the Performing Arts has finally fulfilled my wish, and it's well worth the wait. Featuring a fabulously talented cast of over two dozen legit triple threats, about half of whom are local, co-directed and co-choreographed by A CHORUS LINE expert Kerry Casserly and Artistic Director James Rocco, this show hews very close to the original. There's no re-imagining here, this is a beautifully faithful production of the singular sensation that is A CHORUS LINE. If you call yourself a musical theater fan, it's a must-see.

Capital Stage continues its 2015/16 Season with a poignant new play by legendary playwright Caryl Churchill. The Sacramento Premiere of LOVE AND INFORMATION will be the main-stage directorial debut of local theatre talent, Benjamin T. Ismail.

In his new book, 'Tight & Bright' (published by Xlibris), John Mack Flanagan shares his incredible story of self-discovery and success. This book charts his journey from a poor boy from New Mexico, starting his radio career at a tiny country music radio station, and ending up at KFRC San Francisco, Billboard Station of the Year 1975, 1976, 1977 and 1978. Flanagan was Billboard Jock of the Year finalist 1978, the highest award in radio. KFRC was a 2.9 radio station when the author arrived from Phoenix on September 1973. From a 9 A.M. to noon jock, Flanagan went into the 8's, 8.7, 8.5, 8.7, 8.9 consistently. When he was moved to afternoons on 1975, he went into the 9's, reaching 9.4 in afternoons, a shift that had never been successful at KFRC.

Music fans from around the world will travel to Elvis Presley's Graceland in January 2016 to celebrate the King of Rock 'n' Roll's birthday. Numerous events are scheduled, including the Elvis Presley Birthday Proclamation Ceremony on Friday, January 8 at 9:30 a.m. Central Time, which includes a cake cutting ceremony on the front lawn of Graceland in Memphis.

Steve Hillage is one of the most idiosyncratic and instantly recognisable guitarists in the world. Associated with the Canterbury scene, he has worked in experimental domains since the late 1960s. Besides his critically acclaimed solo recordings, along with prog legends Gong, Steve has been a member of the ensembles Khan and System 7. And now, much to the excitement of Steve Hillage fans worldwide, Cleopatra Records will be releasing a vintage concert recording from 1977 of his band in concert at Madison Square Garden in NYC!
