A fresh selection of films for the 'wheel world' is gearing up to take off in Wellington from 7 to 17 March 2018. The third New Zealand Bicycle Film Festival is devoted to bike riders of all persuasions, from hard-core mountain bikers to leisurely eBikers and their support crews.

The Jurkowitz Center for Community Engagement is pleased to partner with the Cliff Drive Care Center to screen Toy Story 3, the fourth installment in the 'Movies That Matter with Hal Conklin' Film Series, on Friday, March 9, 2018 at 7:00pm at The Granada Theatre. The evening will also feature a Q & A with Conklin and representatives from the Cliff Drive Care Center to engage the audience in meaningful conversations about the film. The 'Movies That Matter with Hal Conklin' film series continues with Hidden Figures, on Monday, February 19th, at 7:00 pm at The Granada Theatre. The Jurkowitz Center for Community Engagement is pleased to partner with the Martin Luther King Jr. Committee of Santa Barbara for the screening of this next film in the beloved "Movies that Matter" series. Series moderator Hal Conklin will be joined by E. Onja Brown-Lawson, President of the Board of Directors of the Martin Luther King Jr. Committee of Santa Barbara, for a pre-screening discussion with special guest First Lieutenant Victoria Foster of Vandenberg Air Force Base. Tickets for the film screening are $10 or $20 and are available online at GranadaSB.org. The Granada Theatre is offering a special discounted family ticket package of four tickets for $25 to this screening. 

Celebrate Mother's Day weekend with Anita Baker, multi-Grammy Award-winning singer, at Atlanta's Fox Theatre on Friday, May 11 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, May 13 at 7 p.m. Regarded as one of the most popular vocalists of soulful romantic ballads, Anita Baker sings the songs every mother will love to hear live in concert. (NEC) will re-mount its 2017 revival of 'A Soldier's Play' by Charles Fuller, directed by Charles Weldon, from February 14 to March 4, 2018 at Gene Frankel Theatre, 24 Bond Street. The piece is historically NEC's most famous and successful play. It was produced last fall at Theatre 80 St. Marks as the culminating event of NEC's landmark 50th season, playing to full houses and glowing notices. The cast of that revival will return intact for the Gene Frankel Theatre run.

Brooks, whose acclaimed films include Terms of Endearment, Broadcast News, and As Good As It Gets, has been named the recipient of the Writers Guild of America West's 2018 Laurel Award for Screenwriting Achievement in recognition of his extraordinary career and body of work.

Their unmistakable sound and romantic ballads helped to define the music of the '80s. Graham Russell and Russell Hitchcock, better known as Air Supply, come to The Hanover Theatre for the Performing Arts for one night only on Friday, March 9 at 8 p.m. Tickets are on sale now to theatre members and go on sale to the general public on Friday, January 12 at 10 a.m.
