Los Angeles theatre lovers will see the welcomed return of the singularly entertaining Reprise productions, rebooted appropriately as REPRISE 2.0. Headed, as before, by producing artistic director Marcia Seligson, REPRISE 2.0 has already announced their first season, beginning June 20, 2018 with SWEET CHARITY, VICTOR, VICTORIA and GRAND HOTEL. Marcia availed herself from her multi-tasking REPRISE 2.0 duties to chat with me.

The 72nd Annual Tony Awards are this Sunday June 10th at 8/9c hosted by Josh Groban and Sara Bareilles. It's the biggest award show of the Broadway season and it closes out a long awards season for Broadway and Off-Broadway musicals and plays. We can't help but wonder what chances this year's Best Musical and Best Play nominees have of taking home the ultimate prize...

The Broad Stage continues their collaboration with Red Hen Press for Red Hen Press: At the Kitchen Table with Rinde and Ellen on Sunday, July 22 at 2:00pm in the East Wing at The Broad Stage.

Dance to Unite raised more than $120,000 in support of the non-profit organization's expanding free after-school dance and education programs at their 5th Annual Benefit: Lead the Way on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at 6:30pm at the Manny Cantor Center, located on the Lower East Side at 197 E Broadway, New York, NY 10002.

Through an innovative partnership helmed by the Columbus Symphony's Associate Conductor Peter Stafford Wilson and Columbus Children's Choir's Artistic Director Jeanne Wohlgamuth, the Columbus Symphony Youth Orchestra (CSYO) and the New World Singers of Columbus Children's Choir will present a concert showcase at NYC's Carnegie Hall on Friday, June 15, at 8pm. The groups rallied together funding resources and artistic talents to not only support the performance, but to commission a new work for the occasion. From Earth to Heaven by composer Craig Courtney will make its world premiere in this program via 158 local students in grades 6-12.

Celebrating outstanding Australian choreographic talent bursting from within the ranks of The Australian Ballet, Verve brings together three high-octane ballets created by past and present company dancers. Two landmark works by The Australian Ballet resident choreographers Tim Harbour and Stephen Baynes, and the world premiere of a new work by Coryphee Alice Topp will showcase The Australian Ballet's artistry and athleticism. The contemporary triple bill Verve will catapult onto the stage exclusively in Melbourne from 21 to 30 June.

Backstage at the Geffen, the Geffen Playhouse's annual fundraiser event, has launched its online auction featuring luxury vacations, one-of-a-kind artwork and VIP experiences. Proceeds will benefit the Geffen's mission to produce original, quality work and raises funds for its award-winning education and community engagement programs, which bring live theater to more than 15,000 disadvantaged youth, seniors and veterans annually.

Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra's virtuosic musicians serve as musical tour guides for In Focus, the Orchestra's newest chamber music series curated by Concertmaster Margaret Batjer, which concludes its inaugural season with special guest Robert Thies, piano, and Principal Oboe Claire Brazeau, joining Batjer and LACO musicians on Today, May 9, 2018, 7:30 pm, at Rothenberg Hall, The Huntington in San Marino, and Thursday, May 10, 2018, 7:30 pm, at Moss Theatre in Santa Monica. 

American folk and blues singer, songwriter, musician and recording artist (and audience favorite) Tom Rush returns to the Capitol Center for the Arts (CCA) on Sunday, May 20 at 7:30PM. This presentation is one of several free William H. Giles Concert Series performances during the CCA's 2017-18 season.

Casting is announced for two REPRISE 2.0 productions with two Tony Award leading actress nominees: Laura Bell Bundy (Legally Blonde - Tony Nomination, Hairspray, Anger Management) is to play Charity in Sweet Charity, directed and choreographed by three time Tony Award-winner Kathleen Marshall from June 20 to July 1, and Carmen Cusack (Bright Star - Tony Nomination, Wicked) is to play Victoria Grant in Victor/Victoria directed by Richard Israel and choreographed by John Todd from September 5 to 16 at UCLA's Freud Playhouse.
