Theatre Under The Stars (TUTS) is excited to announce the nominations and presenters for TUTS' 14th annual Tommy Tune Awards, which will be held on April 19 at 7:30 p.m. at The Hobby Center for the Performing Arts. The Tommy Tune Awards recognize and reward excellence in the production of musical theatre by high school students and their teachers. Co-hosts for this year's awards ceremony include Sarah Pepper and Jim Bernhard. Pepper is a host on Hot 95.7. Bernhard has written several original productions that have debuted at TUTS and authored the organization's theatrical history book, "Stars In Your Eyes".

Porchlight Music Theatre and Artistic Director Michael Weber are proud to present the Chicago premiere of Far From Heaven, book by Richard Greenberg, music by Scott Frankel and lyrics by Michael Korie and starring multi-Jeff Award-winner Summer Naomi Smart with Brandon Springman and Evan Tyrone Martin. The production is directed by Porchlight Artistic Associate Rob Lindley, music directed by Chuck Larkin and choreographed by William Carlos Angulo, February 5 - March 13, 2016. Signature Theatre presents WEST SIDE STORY, directed by Signature Associate Artistic Director Matthew Gardiner (Signature's Sunday in the Park with George, Cabaret). The musical, a collaboration of music, dance and theater giants Leonard Bernstein, Stephen Sondheim, Jerome Robbins and Arthur Laurents, is considered by some to be one of the greatest musicals of all time. WEST SIDE STORY will run from tonight, December 8 - January 24 in Signature Theatre's intimate MAX Theatre.

Based on the smash hit 2003 film of the same title, SCHOOL OF ROCK: THE MUSICAL, with music from the movie, as well as an original score by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyricist Glenn Slater, a book by Julian Fellowes and direction by Laurence Connor, makes its World Premiere on Broadway tonight, December 6, at the Winter Garden Theatre. Longtime partners and the creators of the hit musical RUTHLESS!, Marvin Laird and Joel Paley, were married in a private ceremony this past Sunday, November 1st. It was truly a family affair with two of the producers, Maxine Paul and Evan Sacks, standing up for the resplendent grooms as maid of honor and best man respectively. (Reports remain spotty on precisely who stood up for whom.) The initial announcement of the nuptials occurred at the July 13th opening night of RUTHLESS! when Paley proposed to Laird while making a celebratory toast at the post-performance party. Sunday's wedding was held at the beautiful home of the show's third producer, Ken Schur, and his lovely and charming wife Janet. Attendees included Bernadette Peters, Lynn Cohen and select A-listers from the RUTHLESS! company. Scroll down for photos!

Musical Theater Heritage (MTH) will present Urinetown: The Musical, by Mark Hollman and Greg Kotis, winner of three 2002 Tony Awards.  Performances will take place Todays at 7pm, Fridays @ 8pm, Saturdays @ 2pm & 8pm, and Sundays @ 2pm, November 5-22.  All performances will be held in the main stage at Musical Theater Heritage in the Crown Center Shops.

The Irish Repertory Theatre (Charlotte Moore, Artistic Director and Ciaran O'Reilly, Producing Director) announces its first production of 2016, THE BURIAL AT THEBES written by Irish Nobel Laureate Seamus Heaney, based on Sophocles' Antigone.

Billed as 'a new musical', the world premiere of Prince of Broadway at Tokyu Theatre Orb in Tokyo salutes legendary Broadway producer/director, Harold Prince. Co-directed by Prince himself and Susan Stroman (who also choreographs), the evening celebrates an illustrious career spanning over six decades from the 1950s up to the present day, during which time Hal Prince has produced and/or directed more than 30 Broadway shows, winning a record 21 Tony Awards along the way.

Tony Maudsley (ITV1's Benidorm) will play Edna Turnblad when Hairspray returns to Edinburgh next year. He will be joined by TV and stage actress and presenter Claire Sweeney (Educating Rita, Guys and Dolls) as Velma Von Tussle, Olivier Award nominated actor and much-loved Blue Peter presenter Peter Duncan (BBC1 Tumble) as Wilbur Turnblad and British singer and West End performer Brenda Edwards (Chicago, We Will Rock You, The X Factor) as Motormouth Maybelle. Freya Sutton will reprise the role of Tracy Turnblad alongside established musical theatre performer Jon Tsouras (A Chorus Line) who will play the role of Corny Collins. Dex Lee (The Scottsboro Boys) will play Seaweed, Ashley Gilmour (Miss Saigon) will play Link Larkin, Lauren Stroud (Wicked) will play Amber, Monique Young (Top Hat) will play Penny, Karis Jack (Urinetown) will play Little Inez, Adam Price (Hairspray) will play Male Authority Figure, Tracey Penn (Made in Dagenham) will play Female Authority Figure and Layton Williams (Bad Education, Billy Elliot) will play Duane. Further casting will be announced in due course.

Theatre Under The Stars (TUTS) has announced the show titles and dates for the 45 Houston-area high schools participating in the 2016 Tommy Tune Awards.

Steven Berkoff and Shobu Kapoor return to the stage to play opposite Sanjeev Bhaskar in the world premiere of Anthony Horowitz's new play Dinner with Saddam.  The production, directed by Lindsay Posner, opens on 22 September, with previews from 10 September, and runs until 14 November.

The stars of RUTHLESS! The Musical are set to perform live on "Pix11 Morning News" tomorrow (Thursday) on Channel 11.
