THE LAST FIVE YEARS, playing at The Carnegie weekends April 9-24, 2016, explores the relationship of Jamie and Cathy, a young couple struggling to find balance between career and relationship.

The UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television (UCLA TFT) announced today a new revival of Rodgers & Hammerstein's Carousel, set to open Friday, May 6, 2016 at UCLA TFT's Freud Playhouse. The play, directed by UCLA TFT Adjunct Associate Professor Jeremy Mann, with musical direction by Adjunct Associate Professor Dan Belzer, will feature Broadway actress Linda Kerns and undergraduate acting students from the UCLA TFT Department of Theater.

RUTHLESS! recently received the coveted 2015 Odyssey Nightlife Award for Best Off Broadway Show, and actor Paul Pecorino was honored for Best Breakthrough Off Broadway Performance.

Off-Broadway's musical smash RUTHLESS! is adding Thursday performances beginning this week. Now extended into the summer, RUTHLESS! opened on July 13, 2015 to unanimous rave reviews led by Entertainment Weekly which called the show, 'Uproarious! A mash-up of THE BAD SEED, GYPSY, ALL ABOUT EVE, plus the films of Douglas Sirk and John Waters!' Just some of the celebrities who have been spotted in the audience so far include Ron Howard, Regis & Joy Philbin, Bernadette Peters, Lynn Cohen, Chelsie Hightower, Mario Cantone, Rex Reed, Dmitry Chaplin, Laura Bell Bundy, Barbara Eden, Jan Maxwell, Legacy, Larry Thomas (The Soup Nazi), Jackie Hoffman, Sierra Boggess, Dame Gillian Lynne, Jerry Dixon, Von Smith, Jacque LeWarne, Emily James, and Jonathan Platero. The Public Theater presents the new musical SOUTHERN COMFORT that tells the true story of a group of transgender friends living life on their own terms in the back hills of rural Georgia. SOUTHERN COMFORT begins previews tonight, February 23 and will run through Sunday, March 27 in The Public's Anspacher Theater, with an official press opening on Monday, March 7.

The Off-Broadway smash, RUTHLESS! The Musical, marked its 100th performance on January 30th and the company celebrated after the show at Lattanzi with celebrity attendees Lynn Cohen, Mario Cantone and Jerry Dixon.

Back in 2015, we reported that there was a reading of THE STING that took place around early August. We now have new information that the Araca Group will hold a new reading of the musical, directed again by John Rando. The reading will take place February 22nd to the 26th, with music and lyrics by Mark Hollman and Greg Kotis and the book written by Bob Martin.    

North Carolina Theatre, the region's premiere nonprofit professional regional theatre producing Broadway musical revivals, welcomes Broadway couple Hunter Foster and Jennifer Cody for this month's production of GREASE as director and choreographer, respectively. The power couple starred together in the 1994 Tony-nominated Broadway revival of GREASE for several years, during which the two were married.

This uproarious new 'translaptation' of a classic French farce, Alexis Piron's La Metromanie, will be directed by one of America's most renowned stage directors, Michael Kahn, presented in association with Shakespeare Theatre Company.

The Off-Broadway smash, RUTHLESS! The Musical, will celebrate its 100th performance this Saturday, January 30th at St. Luke's Theatre in the heart of the Theatre District. Due to overwhelming demand, the producers of RUTHLESS! recently put a new block of seats on sale through April 2nd. There will be an early 1:30 PM curtain this Saturday in order to accommodate a special meet & greet/celebration with the cast immediately after the matinee. RUTHLESS! opened July 13th to unanimous rave reviews led by Entertainment Weekly which called the show, "Uproarious! A mash-up of THE BAD SEED, GYPSY, ALL ABOUT EVE, plus the films of Douglas Sirk and John Waters!" Book and lyrics are by Joel Paley with music by Marvin Laird. Paley also directed the original production of RUTHLESS! as well as productions in L.A., South Beach and the record-breaking concert event starring Bernadette Peters. He once again serves as director of the new production, with Marvin Laird on board as music supervisor as well.

Odyssey New York Magazine presented the 2015 Odyssey Nightlife Awards at a star-studded gala this past Friday, January 15th at XL New York. RUTHLESS! The Musical received the coveted Best Off Broadway Show award and its star, Paul Pecorino, was honored for Best Breakthrough Off Broadway Performance. Scroll down for photos from the event!
