Alley Theatre Artistic Director Gregory Boyd announces the cast and creative team for the Alley Theatre's production of the Conor McPherson's THE SEAFARER. The Seafarer, by Conor McPherson and directed by Gregory Boyd, begins previews Friday April 6, opens Wednesday April 11 and runs through Sunday, April 29, 2012 on the Hubbard Stage. Chicago Opera Theater (COT) presents the opening production of their 2012 Season, and General Director Brian Dickie's last season with the company, with Shostakovich's Moscow, Cheryomushki. Performances are April 14, 20, 22, and 25 at the Harris Theater for Music and Dance in Millennium Park.

Bella Vita Entertainment in association with the Whitefire Theatre (which is celebrating its 30th Anniversary) will present a world premiere play, SLOW DANCE IN MIDTOWN, written and directed by Elizabeth Sarnoff ("Lost," "Deadwod," Alcatraz") and stars Don Swayze, Meredith Scott Lynn, Nick Stabile and Tricia Small. SLOW DANCE IN MIDTOWN will preview on Tuesday, April 3; Wednesday, April 4 & Thursday, April 5 at 8pm and will open on Friday, April 6 and run through Saturday, May 12 at the Whitefire Theatre, 13500 Ventura Blvd. in Sherman Oaks.

Lou Bellamy, Artistic Director of the acclaimed Penumbra Theatre, will direct the Cleveland Play House production of Radio Golf, the Tony Award®-nominated finale of playwright August Wilson's unprecedented ten-play cycle chronicling African-American life in the 20th century. Bellamy has been described as the foremost living interpreter of work of Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright August Wilson, and his Penumbra Theatre is proud to have produced more of Wilson's plays than any other theatre in the world. Radio Golf, a co-production with Indiana Repertory Theatre, will begin in the Allen Theatre at PlayhouseSquare on Friday, February 10 and run through Sunday, March 4, 2012. Charles Street, Baltimore, MD 21201, (443) 874-4917, www.strand-theater.org. Beginning at 11:00 a.m. plays to be read are The Milwood Elementary School PTA by Sharon Goldner, directed by Steve Goldklang, followed at 1:00 p.m. by Shana Unsettled by Ronda Cooperstein, directed by Terry Moritz, and at 3:00 p.m. by Following Sarah by Rich Espey, directed by Josh Shoemaker. After each reading there will be a discussion of the script with the playwright, director and actors. The event is free, and the general public is encouraged to attend.
