THE STORY OF FILM: AN ODYSSEY is an unprecedented cinematic event, an epic journey through the history of world cinema that is a treat for movie lovers around the globe.

Jane Kaczmarek (Malcolm in the Middle), reprising the role she created for the U.S premiere at the Manhattan Theatre Club and for which she won an Ovation award in the L.A. premiere, and Susan Sullivan (Dharma and Greg, Castle) head the cast when Jeanie Hackett directs Kindertransport by Diane Samuelsfor L.A. Theatre Works. All performances will be recorded live in front of an audience (without sets or costumes) to air on L.A. Theatre Works' syndicated radio theater series, which broadcasts weekly on public radio stations nationwide and can be streamed on demand at www.latw.org.

For his first CD as a leader, Perry has selected one of the most beloved and prolific of these composers, Cole Porter, for SO IN LOVE - PERRY BEEKMAN SINGS AND PLAYS COLE PORTER. Casting for the first two weeks of American Ballet Theatre's 2013 Spring Season at the Metropolitan Opera House was recently announced by Artistic Director Kevin McKenzie. Lincoln Center Theater previously announced that Betsy Aidem, Blair Brown, Michael Cerveris, Anthony Cochrane, Lauren Culpepper, Alvin Epstein, Kathryn Erbe, John Glover, Jennifer B. Grace, Katie Kreisler, Stephen Kunken, Haviland Morris, Dale Place, John Procaccino, Gareth Saxe and Alan Schmuckler would be featured in the 18-member cast of its world premiere production of NIKOLAI AND THE OTHERS, a new play by Richard Nelson. The play, which was commissioned by Lincoln Center Theater, will be directed by David Cromer and will begin performances tonight, April 4 at the Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater. Opening night is Monday, May 6.

The University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) continues to study and celebrate the work of composer Kurt Weill with Into a Lamplit Room: The Songs of Kurt Weill presented by CCM's Department of Musical Theatre at 7 p.m. on both tonight, March 3, and Sunday, March 10.

The University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music's (CCM) year-long Kurt Weill Festival resumes this month with a dynamic new production of the iconic musical The Threepenny Opera. Composed by Kurt Weill with book and lyrics by dramatist Bertolt Brecht (adapted into English by Marc Blitzstein), The Threepenny Opera weaves the riveting tale of notorious bandit and womanizer Macheath ('Mack the Knife') and his seedy companions in London's underworld. Weill's innovative score invented a new form of musical theatre, leading the way for such shows as Chicago and Cabaret.

Set on a tropical island during World War II, South Pacific tells the sweeping romantic story of two parallel couples who are threatened by the dangers of racial prejudice and war. This enchanting musical comes to life on the Hale Theatre stage in Gilbert tonight, February 14th through March 30th.

David Zwirner has announced the gallery's third solo exhibition of drawings and three-dimensional works by Al Taylor. On view at the gallery's 519 West 19th Street space, the exhibition will present a comprehensive examination of two individual series by the artist: Pass the Peas (1991-92) and Can Studys [sic] from 1993, as well as a related group of works entitled Cans and Hoops (1993) which bridge the evolution between the two series. 'Pass the Peas' and 'Can Studys' will be on view from today, September 7 through October 27, 2012, with an opening reception set for tonight, September 7th from 6 to 8 p.m.
