Also featured is the holiday music of Al Jarreau.

The performance schedule has been changed for 'Light Up The Night,' a theatrical concert of rediscovered and restored Yiddish theater songs by Ellstein, Goldfaden, Olshanetsky, Rumshinsky, and Secunda, to be presented by National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene (NYTF) January 1 in Edmond J. Safra Hall at Museum of Jewish Heritage, 36 Battery Place, Manhattan.  Originally two shows were planned, at 2:00 PM and 6:00 PM.  The 2:00 PM performance continues as scheduled but the 6:00 PM performance has been canceled.

Theater Latte Da and Hennepin Theatre Trust will present the tenth anniversary of the award-winning ALL IS CALM: THE CHRISTMAS TRUCE OF 1914 Dec. 15-18, 2016 at the historic Pantages Theatre (710 Hennepin Ave., Minneapolis). Now a holiday classic, ALL IS CALM is a poignant retelling of the spontaneous Christmas Eve truce during World War I. Directed by Theater Latte Da Artistic Director Peter Rothstein, the production combines period songs with first-hand accounts of this remarkable event.

The Playhouse San Antonio will be performing ALL IS CALM: THE CHRISTMAS TRUCE OF 1914 beginning December 2 and playing until December 18 in the Russell Hill Rogers Theater.

 To ring in the New Year, on January 1 National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene (NYTF) will present 'Light Up The Night,' a concert of rediscovered and restored pre- and post-WWII music from the theatrical works of the great composers of the Golden Age of Yiddish Theater.  These include Ellstein, Goldfaden, Olshanetsky, Rumshinsky and Secunda.  All are leading songwriters from the era of 'The Golden Bride,' which was presented by Folksbiene Theatre in 2015 and 2016.  The cast will feature performers who were acclaimed in that production, backed by a 16-piece orchestra.  The production is in Yiddish with projected supertitles.  The full concert will be offered twice, at 2:00 PM and 6:00 PM, in Edmond J. Safra Hall at Museum of Jewish Heritage, 36 Battery Place.

Walnut Street Theatre's 2016-2017 Independence Studio on 3 season continues with The Irish Repertory Theatre of New York's adaptation Dylan Thomas' iconic, A CHILD'S CHRISTMAS IN WALES. Some artists, however, make it look simpler than others--like composer Kevin Puts, who won the Pulitzer Prize for Music for SILENT NIGHT, with Mark Campbell's libretto, for his first try at the notoriously difficult art form. (The Southeast premiere is opening at Atlanta Opera on November 5.) Easy? Well, looks can be deceiving.

Three women--all seduced into marriage and relieved of their lives and fortunes--beautifully retell their rather unfortunate stories in Renaissance Theaterworks (RTW) The Drowning Girls on stage in the Studio Theatre. A play written by Beth Graham, Charlie Tomilnson and Daniela Vlaskalic, the play relates the true story of George Joseph Smith, a man who married three vulnerable maids during England's early 20th century and then immediately drowned them in their own bathtubs.

Lambert High School students from the Advanced Placement Studio Art and Visual Art I classes took part in a collaboration with the Fine Arts Department and The Atlanta Opera for the 'Silent Night Atlanta Opera Project' this month. This is the first collaboration project of its kind for the Lambert visual arts students.
