Darko Tresnjak, Artistic Director, and Michael Stotts, Managing Director, announced today that George Bernard Shaw's Heartbreak House, with its particular relevance to today's social climate, will replace Saint Joan as the final play of the 2016-17 season. Tresnjak will direct.

KPFK Radio's Arts in Review, Los Angeles's longest-running radio showcase on live theater and cabaret, presents its annual Holiday Drama Marathon, featuring the AIR Repertory Players under the direction of Irene Arranga, highlighted by the premiere of Christmas in Tinseltown by Julio Martinez, the encores of To All a Good Night: The History of Santa Claus, Dreidels and Donuts & The Christmas Eve Truce and the 13th annual concert presentation of Dylan Thomas' A Child's Christmas in Wales, featuring actor Al Alu. Also featured is the holiday music of Al Jarreau.

The performance schedule has been changed for 'Light Up The Night,' a theatrical concert of rediscovered and restored Yiddish theater songs by Ellstein, Goldfaden, Olshanetsky, Rumshinsky, and Secunda, to be presented by National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene (NYTF) January 1 in Edmond J. Safra Hall at Museum of Jewish Heritage, 36 Battery Place, Manhattan.  Originally two shows were planned, at 2:00 PM and 6:00 PM.  The 2:00 PM performance continues as scheduled but the 6:00 PM performance has been canceled.

Now a holiday classic, ALL IS CALM is a poignant retelling of the spontaneous Christmas Eve truce during World War I. Directed by Theater Latte Da Artistic Director Peter Rothstein, the production combines period songs with first-hand accounts of this remarkable event.

The Playhouse San Antonio will be performing ALL IS CALM: THE CHRISTMAS TRUCE OF 1914 beginning December 2 and playing until December 18 in the Russell Hill Rogers Theater.

 To ring in the New Year, on January 1 National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene (NYTF) will present 'Light Up The Night,' a concert of rediscovered and restored pre- and post-WWII music from the theatrical works of the great composers of the Golden Age of Yiddish Theater.  These include Ellstein, Goldfaden, Olshanetsky, Rumshinsky and Secunda.  All are leading songwriters from the era of 'The Golden Bride,' which was presented by Folksbiene Theatre in 2015 and 2016.  The cast will feature performers who were acclaimed in that production, backed by a 16-piece orchestra.  The production is in Yiddish with projected supertitles.  The full concert will be offered twice, at 2:00 PM and 6:00 PM, in Edmond J. Safra Hall at Museum of Jewish Heritage, 36 Battery Place.

Walnut Street Theatre's 2016-2017 Independence Studio on 3 season continues with The Irish Repertory Theatre of New York's adaptation Dylan Thomas' iconic, A CHILD'S CHRISTMAS IN WALES. That is, unless it's Kevin Puts' and Mark Campbell's prize-winning SILENT NIGHT, which actually opened on Saturday night (this past weekend) at Atlanta's Cobb Energy Performing Arts Center, in a moving new production by the company's General and Artistic Director Tomer Zvulun that doesn't go for the heart strings but gets there anyway.
