Two perennial holiday classics by Truman Capote, "The Thanksgiving Visitor" and "A Christmas Memory," come to vivid theatrical life this December when Catskill's Bridge Street Theatre presents Russell Vandenbroucke's heartwarming stage adaptation "Holiday Memories" for 8 performances only.

The legendary Robin Hood of yore comes to life on the B Street stage with plenty of sword fighting, wordplay and physical comedy.

The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey rings in the holiday season with a timeless production of A Child's Christmas in Wales, based on the classic story by Welsh poet Dylan Thomas and adapted for the stage by Jeremy Brooks and Adrian Mitchell. The festive show is being revived for the first time since it last appeared on the STNJ stage in 2003, featuring Greg Jackson in the role of Dylan Thomas. Performances begin November 30 and run through January 1 at the F.M. EMH Productions rounds out its fifth year of dynamic theatre on intimate Sacramento stages, this time partnering with Co-Producer Atim Udoffia for Doubt by John Patrick Shanley. It will be directed by Sacramento's Anthony D'Juan. This 2005 Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning play mesmerized audiences on Broadway, while the 2009 film adaptation received an Oscar nomination. 

The complete cast is set for the upcoming Vermont Premiere of Tarell Alvin McCraney's CHOIR BOY, a gospel-infused play that will run at Briggs Opera House in White River Junction, VT. The show, directed by Jarvis Antonio Green, begins previews on November 3 and opens on November 5.

The Theatre Group at SBCC will continue the 16/17 season with the compelling drama, OTHER DESERT CITIES by Jon Robin Baitz, directed by R. Michael Gros, October 12-29, 2016 in the Garvin Theatre

Casting has been announced for Park Theatre's new dark comedy Saving Jason, created by the two-time Olivier Award nominated writer of the West End/Broadway hits Glorious! and End of the Rainbow, Peter Quilter. Directed by Steven Dexter, the cast includes Jacques Miche, Tor Clark, Cory Peterson, William Oxborrow, Julie Armstrong and Paddy Navin. Saving Jason will play at Park90, from 2 November until 3 December 2016, with a press night on Monday 7 November, 7pm. 

A woman arrives in a rural village in pre-industrial England. Her desire is to sew and learn from their simple way of life. But the group soon begins to suspect she is not who they thought she was. 'There's no point in just making quilts. They have to serve the village. They have to DO something.'

?Trinity Repertory Company has announced Jude Sandy has joined the resident acting company. Sandy, a Trinidadian native, graduated from Brown University in 2005 and Brown/Trinity Rep MFA program in 2009.

David Compton – one of the region's most accomplished and acclaimed and most beloved actors and directors – died early Wednesday morning, May 4, after a four-year battle with heart disease and cancer. He leaves his wife, Amanda Card Compton (whom he married on Tuesday, May 3, just hours before his death); his mother, Jo Compton of Badin, North Carolina; his sister Becky Compton Taylor; his brother Jim Compton; and countless other friends and family who are mourning his passing.

Berkeley Playhouse will produce the first non-musical in its nine-year history with Christopher Sergel's adaptation of Harper Lee's To Kill a Mockingbird.
