This two hour stage adaptation of Harper Lee's Pulitzer Prize-winning book is told through the eyes of a child with humor, wisdom, and understanding. While many people recall the heroism of Lee's fictional hero, attorney Atticus Finch, in defending a black man wrongly accused of rape, they often forget that Finch's client was still convicted and, ultimately, killed. It's a story about injustice, a cautionary tale, but at the same time it's a story about courage.

Scout (Brooke Zollinger), a young girl in a quiet southern town, is about to experience dramatic events that will affect the rest of her life. Set in 1935, this play illustrates the social issues of this time period as the black people of the community have a special feeling about Scout's father. In her youthful innocence, she does not know why. Atticus (Tum Jaeger), a lawyer, explains that he is defending a young Negro (Antoine Johnson as Tom Robinson) wrongfully accused of a grave crime.
