Paper Mill Playhouse is hosting its largest fundraising event of the year, the Paper Mill Playhouse Gala on Friday, May 6, at the renowned Hilton Short Hills. The reception and silent auction begin at 6:00pm followed by dinner and dancing featuring The Eddie Bruce Band. 

The next Fairwinds Broadway in Orlando show is coming and it is arguably the most anticipated show of the season. Good morning, BroadwayWorld! Because we know all our readers eat, sleep and breathe Broadway, what could be better than waking up to it? Today's big news: Stacey Luftig and Phillip Palmer are honored with 2015 Fred Ebb Awards tonight; and be sure to set your DVR! Kristen Bell hosts ABC's IT'S YOUR 50TH CHRISTMAS, CHARLIE BROWN this evening.

In anticipation of this star-studded event, over the next few days, we are going to be looking at the impressive musical careers (and when possible, musical theatre careers) of THE WIZ LIVE! stars. Today, we are going to throw open the gates of the Emerald City and look at the stars making their home in Oz. First, Queen Latifah as The Wizard of Oz, then Common as the Bouncer, and finally Stephanie Mills as Auntie Em. While Auntie Em never actually does make it to Oz, since Mills has been a major part in the journey of THE WIZ for over 40 years, I think it is safe to say that she is an official Ozian!

Friends in Theater Company and State of Play Productions announces additional casting for  The Secret Garden, a two-night only production to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Metro New York and Western New York. Performances will take place on Monday, January 11, 2016 AND Sunday, January 17, 2016 at 7:30pm at the Lucille Lortel Theater (121 Christopher Street New York, NY 10014).

Lincoln Center Out of Doors one of the country's longest-running, free, summer outdoor festivals opens its 45th season on July 22, 2015. A range of concerts, dance performances, family events, related film screenings, talks, and an exhibition will be presented across three weeks, from July 22 - August 9.

The 69th Annual Tony Awards are this Sunday June 7th at 8/9c hosted by Kristin Chenoweth and Alan Cumming. It's the biggest award show of the Broadway season and it closes out a long award season for Broadway and Off-Broadway musicals and plays. We can't help but wonder what chances this year's Best Musical and Best Play nominees have of taking home the ultimate prize.

Performances begin tonight, Friday, March 20 and run through Sunday, April 12. Press night is scheduled for Opening Night Friday, March 27. Appropriate for ages 17 +. As a concert production, there will be no live nudity, though documentary photographs of the original production will be projected.

Broadway fans had plenty of reasons to celebrate this year, with dozens of shows having opened since January, hundreds of actors having made their debuts, and many more having returned to the stage for critically acclaimed performances. BroadHollow Theatre Company's production of Neil Simon's Laughter On the 23rd Floor was enjoyable. It's a refreshing, simple, semi-autobiographical play that is inspired by Mr. Simon's early career as one of the writers for the television show Your Show of Shows. The audience was also enthusiastically receptive although the insolent, drunk, middle-aged couple that was making-out across the aisle apparently wanted to be elsewhere.

Broadway's Terri White will perform "From Blues To Broadway" at the Arthur Newman Theater in the Joslyn Center on Sunday, September 1, 2013 at 2 PM. Considered 'a living legend' in the New York music world, known for her show-stopping, scene-stealing performances, Terri toured as a toddler with her families song and dance act - her specialty was "Me And My Shadow" with her father. As a young lady she headlined at NYC cabaret rooms like 88's, Rose's Turn, and The Duplex. In 1978, her run as understudy to Nell Carter in Ain't Misbehavin' resulted in her going on for an unheard of 112 performances. She later replaced Nell in the 1988 revival but not before her big break playing, strangely enough, octogenarian Joice Heth in the original 1980 production of Barnum. Other shows include: Showboat, Nunsense I & II, Damn Yankees, Bubbling Brown Sugar, Little Shop Of Horrors, and Stepping Out at Radio City with close friend Liza Minnelli and many more, garnering numerous awards and nominations along the way.

With support provided by L.A. County Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky, the Signature Series concludes this summer on Saturday, August 10 at 8 p.m., when Angelenos can experience an evening of dance featuring a special appearance by Complexions Contemporary Ballet, who mark their return to Los Angeles with a mix of repertory and new works and a performance by Los Angeles' own Lula Washington Dance Theatre.
