The concert on Friday, February 8 at 9:00 p.m. in Zankel Hall features Iranian vocalist and activist Mahsa Vahdat.

National Geographic Live, National Geographic's touring speaker series, and the McCallum Theatre are proud to announce "Exploring Mars" with Kobie Boykins, an engineer at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, on Monday, January 21, at 7:00pm. NASA mechanical engineer Kobie Boykins is intimately involved with the planet Mars. As supervisor of the mobility and remote sensing teams for the rover Curiosity, Boykins has monitored headline-making studies, including proof of the former presence of water on Mars indicating that the red planet could have supported life. Join Boykins, winner of a NASA Exceptional Service Medal, as he shares his boundless enthusiasm for unraveling the mysteries of outer space and recounts the latest exciting chapter of Mars exploration.

The McCallum Theatre presents Dave Koz & Friends 'Christmas Tour 2018' today, December 18, at 8:00pm as part of the Fitz's Jazz Cafe at the McCallum series. A holiday tradition returns to the McCallum as Dave Koz and Friends Christmas Tour 2018 brings together a magical combination of musicians to celebrate this special season. Celebrated saxophonist Koz will be joined by special guests Mindi Abair, Jonathan Butler and Keiko Matsui performing their hits and jamming on fresh, lively arrangements of seasonal favorites in a high-energy show for the entire family. 

Yale Repertory Theatre will present the world premiere of Good Faith: Four Chats about Race and the New Haven Fire Department by Karen Hartman, directed by Kenny Leon, February 1-23, 2019 at Yale Repertory Theatre (1120 Chapel Street). Opening Night is Thursday, February 7.

Jacob's Pillow announces the full season lineup of Festival 2019 including world premieres, new commissions, international artists, anniversary celebrations, Pillow-exclusive engagements, and work developed at the Pillow Lab. Entering its 87th consecutive summer, Jacob's Pillow is home to the longest-running dance festival in the United States, a National Historic Landmark, a National Medal of Arts recipient, and has steadily expanded its reach in the field and its local community as a year-round center for dance research and development. Festival 2019 opens June 19, attracting audiences both on and off its site in the Berkshires of Western Massachusetts, through August 25.

The Museum of Arts and Design (MAD) is proud to announce Cannupa Hanska Luger as the winner of the inaugural Burke Prize for contemporary craft. Named for craft collectors Marian and Russell Burke, the prize constitutes an unrestricted award in the amount of $50,000, given annually to an artist age forty-five or under working in glass, fiber, clay, metal, or wood. Luger is the first recipient of the Burke Prize, which recognizes the achievements of a young artist working in and advancing the media and disciplines that shaped the American studio craft movement for which the Museum was founded.

The Florentine Opera Company is kicking off its 2018-19 season with Prince of Players by American composer Carlisle Floyd, October 12 & 14, 2018 at the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts. This will be the Midwest premiere of Floyd's latest opera. The Florentine's production will also be recorded for international release. 

Australian indie pop artist Chela has released her new single “Shut You Up” feat. Banoffee HERE today via IHC 1NFINITY. The track shows off Chela's songwriting and production range, complemented by fellow Australian Banoffee's harmonic vocals. In the accompanying visuals, directed by Chela, the pair finds themselves trying to escape an addictive mobile video game that is infecting the world around them.
