Besides being a delightful tribute to the renowned country singer, Always... Patsy Cline, is based on the true story of the friendship between Patsy and her most devoted fan, Louise Seger. It plays in the Severson Theatre in Santa Maria, tonight, August 8 through the 31st, then under the stars in Solvang, September 6 through the 15th. There will also be a one-night encore performance in the Chumash Casino Resort's Samala Showroom on Saturday, September 21.

Martha Swope, a former dancer with a Brownie camera who would go on to become a world renowned photographer of dance and theater in New York, is the subject of an exciting exhibition at The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts. Martha Swope: In Rehearsal opens today, September 26, 2012, and focuses solely on Swope's rehearsal photography, where she captured rarely seen images from some of the most iconic stage and dance productions of the 20th Century. As a former dancer herself, the exhibition reveals Swope's unique understanding of movement and also illustrates the process of creating dance and theater. Martha Swope: In Rehearsal will be on display from today, September 26, 2012 to January 26, 2013 in the Vincent Astor Gallery at The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts at 40 Lincoln Center. The Public Theater (Artistic Director Oskar Eustis; Executive Director Patrick Willingham) will take its MOBILE SHAKESPEARE UNIT on tour again this July with a production of RICHARD III, directed by Amanda Dehnert. The three-week tour, July 16 to August 3, will bring free Shakespeare to audiences who have limited or no access to the arts before a sit-down run at The Public Theater, August 6-25.
