This winter and spring Bucks County Playhouse offers a full slate of entertainment representing a wide variety of musical, comedy and special event performances as part of the Visiting Artists Series at the Playhouse.

The San Francisco Conservatory of Music (SFCM) today announces the appointment of cellist Amos Yang to its collegiate cello faculty, joining faculty members Jennifer Culp and Jean-Michel Fonteneau. Yang, currently assistant principal cello at the San Francisco Symphony, will accept students to his cello studio at SFCM starting in Fall 2018. He currently coaches string players in the Conservatory Orchestra, teaches an orchestral repertoire class, and works with young cellists in SFCM's Pre-College.

Roundabout Theatre Company - in association with Chocolate Factory Productions and Sonia Friedman Productions - has announced the full cast joining Tom Hollander in the first Broadway revival of Tom Stoppard's Tony Award-winning play Travesties.

Underscore Theatre Company is pleased to present its 4th annual CHICAGO MUSICAL THEATRE FESTIVAL, created to showcase and support the growing field of musical theatre creators from Chicago and beyond. This year's Festival, featuring full productions of seven new musicals plus two staged readings, will play February 6 16, 2018 at the Greenhouse Theater Center, 2257 N. Lincoln Ave. in Chicago. Each full production will receive at least four performances during the Festival. This year's Festival takes place during the League of Chicago Theatres' annual Chicago Theatre Week, with discounted tickets available to all Theatre Week performances. Single tickets go on sale Friday, January 5, 2018 at www.cmtf.org. The press preview is Monday, February 5 at 8 pm.

The Drama Book Shop, the premiere performing arts book shop in the country, currently located at 250 West 40th Street in NYC's theatre district, will commemorate its 100th birthday with an all day celebration on Monday, October 2nd, 2017 open to the public.

Last summer, a group form the Ohio Humanities Council visited Piqua to consider it as one of their Ohio Chautauqua sites for 2017.  Unfortunately, they were not selected, but they did encourage the group to develop their own Chautauqua event.  Well, give folks from Piqua a challenge and they deliver.  So a dedicated committee officially began working on Piqua Chautauqua! The dates for this event will be September 19, 20 & 21, 2017 from 6 to 8 p.m. and will take place at Hance Pavilion, located in Fountain Park in Piqua.

Patrick Marber's critically acclaimed production of Tom Stoppard's Travesties transfers to the West End in 2017 for a limited run at the Apollo Theatre - with over 100 tickets at each performance at just £20.

His day job is as associate justice of the Second District, Division Six of the California Courts of Appeal, but Steve Perren's passion for the stage has seen him appear in a variety of shows in Ventura County over the years. He played founding father Roger Sherman in Cabrillo Music Theatre's 2012 production of 1776 and has also appeared in numerous operettas staged by the Ventura County Gilbert and Sullivan Repertoire Company. In Panic! Productions' Parade, currently playing at the Hillcrest Center for the Arts, Perren is ideally suited for the part of Judge Leonard S. Roan, who presides over the trial of accused child murderer Leo Frank. Parade deals with the real-life arrest and trial of Frank (played by Joshua Finkel), a Georgia factory superintendent who was accused of murdering 13-year-old factory worker Mary Phagan in 1913. We sat down with Steve during a break in rehearsals for the show, and talked about his unique perspective as an actor who also shares the occupation of the character he portrays.
