Hartford Opera Theater is pleased to present THE TENDER LAND with music by Aaron Copland, libretto by Horace Everett, as its main stage production. Directed by Kristy Chambrelli with music direction by Joseph Hodge, THE TENDER LAND tells the story of a young girl, who finds herself on the cusp of adulthood and must choose whether to remain in her small town or experience what the world has to offer.

With an eye towards 2020, the 250th anniversary of Beethoven's birth, award-winning pianist Yael Weiss has embarked upon 'A Beethoven Odyssey,' a project that combines the complete set of Beethoven's 32 piano sonatas with newly commissioned compositions related to them.

On June 8, 2017, The New York Pops will return to its summer home, Forest Hills Stadium in Queens, NY, for a program of music by legendary film composer John Williams. The 2016 Emmy Award-winning documentary narrated by Meryl Streep, Letter from Italy, 1944: A New American Oratorio, will be screened at the Little Theater of Manchester at Cheney Hall, 177 Hartford Rd, Manchester on Sunday, March 12, at 3 p.m. The screening of the documentary, produced by filmmaker Karyl Evans, is free and open to the public.
