McCarter Theatre Announces Its 2011-2012 Theater Season, which will feature three bold world premieres, a new romantic musical featuring the music of Rodgers and Hart, and an intellectual high-speed romp by one of the most celebrated dramatists of our time.

There is nothing usual about Paul Galbraith's guitar playing -- from his posture, which utilizes a cello-like endpin that permits a full range of motion and resonance, to his unique 8-string "Brahms" guitar that has opened up new possibilities for the instrument.

Two River Theater Company, under the leadership of Artistic Director John Dias, continues its season with George Bernard Shaw's classic Candida, directed by David Staller. Performances will begin at Two River Theater, 21 Bridge Avenue, on Tuesday, March 22 and continue through Sunday, April 10.

It's a 'red hot' line-up! Artistic Director Robert Falls announces five of eight play selections in Goodman Theatre's upcoming 2011/2012 subscription season-beginning with his production of the Tony Award-winning Broadway sensation Red, by John Logan, in September. Next in the Albert Theatre, Resident Director Chuck Smith stages David Mamet's Race in a Chicago premiere, following its acclaimed Broadway run. The Goodman then welcomes Spanish director Calixto Bieito, known for his radical opera stagings, in his American theater debut with a new interpretation of the rarely-produced Camino Real by Tennessee Williams. The season concludes on a high note with Regina Taylor's musical Crowns-revived for its 10th anniversary. In the Owen Theatre, rising star playwright Danai Gurira brings her world-premiere production of The Convert, a stand-out offering in the Goodman's recent New Stages new play reading series. Still to be announced are three plays-including a collaboration with Chicago's Teatro Vista. The 2011/2012 season also includes the 34th annual production of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol.

How remarkably tragic it is that the triumphant opening night of Oscar Wilde's The Importance of Being Earnest, perhaps the greatest comedy ever penned in the English language, was also the event that led to the author's personal downfall and eventual public and financial ruin.

Jacobs from the life, work, and writings of R. Buckminster Fuller. The production features Thomas Derrah as Bucky Fuller. Set and lighting design is by David Cuthbert, costume design by Darla Cash, projection design by Jim Findlay, and sound/composition by Luis Perez.

As Arena Stage begins a new life in its renovated home at the Mead Center for American Theater in Southwest D.C., it opens its inaugural season with a classic American musical that similarly embraces life on a new frontier. Rodgers and Hammerstein's Oklahoma! is the first production at the Mead Center and features an all-star cast under the direction of Artistic Director Molly Smith. Rodgers and Hammerstein's Oklahoma! runs October 22-December 26, 2010 in the Fichandler Stage.

It's hard to believe that this production will mark Roundabout's first time bringing you the work of the great Oscar Wilde. Wilde is one of the best-known literary figures of the late Victorian period, yet many people don't realize how few theatrical works he left behind. In fact, the very social hypocrisies that he satirizes in Earnest contributed to the shortening of this famous wit's career.
