Second Stage Theatre (Carole Rothman, Artistic Director) has announced the two plays which will be presented as part of the company's eighth annual Second Stage Theatre Uptown Series this summer: the New York premiere of Michael Golamco's Year Zero, directed by Will Frears, and the world premiere of Leslye Headland's Bachelorette, directed by Trip Cullman.

Second Stage Theatre (Carole Rothman, Artistic Director) has announced that Zach Braff, Bobby Cannavale, Sutton Foster, and Ari Graynor will co-star in the world premiere comedy TRUST, written by Paul Weitz, directed by Peter DuBois. Mr. Weitz returns to Second Stage Theatre, where his plays Privilege and Show People premiered in 2005 and 2006, respectively. Directed by Peter DuBois, who staged Second Stage's acclaimed production of Becky Shaw, TRUST will begin previews on Friday, July 23 at Second Stage Theatre (305 West 43rd street) and officially open on Thursday, August 12. The production runs through September 5.

Previews will begin today at Virginia's Signature Theatre for the world premiere musical Sycamore Trees written by Ricky Ian Gordon, the award-winning composer of the opera The Grapes of Wrath and the musicals Dream True and My Life with Albertine. A starry Broadway cast portrays Gordon's own family story - complete with a tough Bronx-born father and former 'Borscht Belt' singer/comedian mother - in a tale of two generations' struggles and triumphs in the decades from World War II through the 1990s.

Signature Theatre, the current recipient of the Tony Award® for Regional Theatre, presents the world premiere musical Sycamore Trees by Ricky Ian Gordon, composer of the acclaimed opera The Grapes of Wrath and the OBIE Award-winning Orpheus and Euridice, as well as the musicals My Life with Albertine and Dream True.

The Indian Wells Theater will end its current production of THE LITTLE DOG LAUGHED starring Greg Louganis and Teresa Ganzel on April 25. The production was presented as a part of their Broadway Series.

A zany take on two friends' decision to write a musical, [title of show] runs April 6 through June 27 in Signature's remarkably intimate 110-seat ARK Theatre.

Up next for The New Group is the new musical The Kid, beginning performances on Friday, April 16. Official Opening Night is set for Monday, May 10. The West End premiere of Douglas Carter Beane's THE LITTLE DOG LAUGHED concludes April 10. The production opened January 20 at London's Garrick Theatre. The cast features film star Rupert Friend alongside Tamsin Greig, Olivier Award winner for her performance in Much Ado About Nothing with the Royal Shakespeare Company, and is directed by Jamie Lloyd. The cast also features British actors Gemma Arterton and Harry Lloyd. The play began previews January 9th.

Asolo Rep announces additional casting for award-winning Managing Maxine, Janece Shaffer's new play that takes a straight forward look at sex, love and life after 70. The cast features Howard Elfman as Louis, the role he originated last season in the world premiere of Managing Maxine at the Alliance Theatre in Atlanta.

Theater for the New City is pleased to announce that Charles Busch's new comedy THE DIVINE SISTER will play a limited premiere showcase engagement at Theater for the New City's Cino Theater (155 First Avenue).
