Producer Mark Cortale has announced the season finale of his series at The Herbst Theatre  - two time Emmy Award winner Sarah Silverman will join Seth Rudetsky on Sunday, May 19th at 8:00 PM for one show only. In this unique series, music director and host Seth Rudetsky welcomes the greatest performers for up-close and personal conversations and singing. The format of the show will be a seamless mix of great comedy/singing by Silverman and hilarious conversation prompted by Rudetsky's funny, insightful and revealing questions. The Menier Chocolate Factory today announces a major revival of David Hare's The Bay at Nice. Richard Eyre directs Martin Hutson, Ophelia Lovibond, David Rintoul and Penelope Wilton. The production opens on 19 March, with previews from 14 March, and runs until 4 May. Tickets go on sale to supporters of the Menier on 21 January, with public booking opening at 9am on 28 January.

To commemorate the 130th anniversary of Chaplin's birth in 2019, Chaplin's Smile features Philippe Quint joined on two tracks by Quint's friend and frequent collaborator, violinistJoshua Bell. Over more than three years, Quint, in collaboration with arrangers Charles Coleman and Leon Gurvitch went through dozens of songs and soundtracks written by Chaplin to select the songs best suited for violin and piano.

Producer Stephen Gabriel/Work Light Productions released today a music video in anticipation of the 50th Anniversary North American tour of Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber's iconic musical Jesus Christ Superstar.  The Olivier Award-winning production first premiered in 2016 at Regent's Park Open Air Theatre in London.  The North American tour launches in Austin, TX in the fall of 2019 and celebrates fifty epic years since the original rock opera concept album release that began this musical theatre phenomenon.

Chicago Opera Theater (COT) will kick off the 2018/2019 season with "Iolanta," a Chicago premiere of legendary composer P.I. Tchaikovsky's final opera. Internationally renowned and award-winning conductor Lidiya Yankovskaya will make her conducting debut as Chicago Opera Theater's Staley Music Director and set the tone for the season to come. Acclaimed stage director Paul Curran, known for his work at Santa Fe Opera, Lyric Opera Chicago and more, will shape the retelling of this joyous love-story, featuring an almost entirely Chicago-based cast including soprano Katherine Weber as Iolanta, and renowned Russian bass Mikhail Svetlov as Rene.
