Inspired by Shubert's Wintereisse (A Winter's Journey), December Songs portrays a brokenhearted young woman, wandering the snowy paths of Central Park. In this contemporary tale of her journey, she finds the strength to recover and begin her life anew. Written by prolific Broadway Composer Maury Yeston (Nine, Titanic, Phantom), December Songs will be performed by Lisa-Marie Parker (Les Miserables, Cats, Blood Brothers).

And for First Comes The Night -- Isaak's stunning first album of new material in six years -- this gifted singer-songwriter and bandleader is bringing us a bumper crop of strong and intriguing songs from which to choose. There was no mission for this album other than to follow the songs, Chris Isaak explains, and in terms of songwriting, the floodgates really opened this time. My last release was Beyond The Sun -- my tribute to Sun Records with a lot of covers -- so this time around I had a lot of new material that I was thrilled to record. Marquee Mysteries launched in 2005 with A Rock-n-Roll Golden Oldies Mystery. Reservoir announces a new worldwide deal with multi-Platinum and award-winning international songwriter, producer, and performer Jamie Hartman. The company has worked with Hartman since the 2012 acquisition of U.K. publisher Reverb Music, and will continue to co-publish Hartman's hundreds of titles under the deal.

KRIS KRINGLE The Musical has found its Kris Kringle and Mrs. Claus! ...Broadway's Andrew Keenan-Bolger (Tuck Everlasting, Newsies) and Kim Crosby (Into the Woods, Guys & Dolls) will play Kris Kringle and Mrs. Claus, respectively, in the original holiday musical, featuring previously announced Tony Award nominees Cathy Rigby (Peter Pan, Seussical) and Pamela Myers (Company, Into the Woods).

Moore was astounding in this performance; it was mostly about his life and what he believes in. I don't find many comedians funny, but I surrendered to Moore's clever monologue, joined by uproarious laughter from the audience throughout the show. His type of humor is sophisticated and intellectual; he presented his show as a 12-step program for liberals. I'm neither a liberal nor an alcoholic, so going through a 12-step recovery session was a novel experience. One of the traditional steps in such programs involve turning one's problems over to God. Moore confessed, My higher power is Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

Pear Theatre examines the clashes and conflicts of society and politics with Henrik Ibsen's "An Enemy of the People," adapted by Rebecca Lenkiewicz. When a town's economic future is at stake, its leader would rather vilify a good man and risk harm to its own citizens than do the right thing. "An Enemy of the People" is directed by Ray Renati, and previews on October 19. Press and Opening Night is Friday, October 20, followed by a champagne gala. The show runs Thursdays through Sundays, through November 12. All performances are held at the Pear Theatre, 1110 La Avenida St., Mountain View.
