The George Luscombe Award was inaugurated in 1999 and recognizes an individual for mentorship in theatre. Revolutionary theatre founder and artistic director George Luscombe founded Toronto Workshop Productions in 1959, marking the beginnings of Toronto's alternative theatre movement. His 27 years at TWP is the longest tenure of any artistic director in Canada.

Written by Annie Elias, with theater documentarians Tristan Cunningham, Siobhan Doherty, Rebecca Frank, Michael Uy Kelly, Leigh Shaw, and David Sinaiko (with additional writing by David Westley Skillman), and directed by Elias, TENDERLOIN plays now through June 3 (added performances: Thursday, May 31, 7:30pm; Friday, June 1, 8pm; Saturday, June 2, 8pm; Sunday, June 3, 5pm).

First Stage marks its 26th year in the 2012-2013 season, comprising of five Family Series productions to be performed at the Todd Wehr Theater at the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts in downtown Milwaukee, two First Steps series productions - plays geared towards children ages 3 to 6 - at the Milwaukee Youth Arts Center, and one production performed by First Stage's Young Company - First Stage Theater Academy's advanced actor training program for high school students - at Marquette University's Helfaer Theatre.
