Next up on SummerStage is The Rock Steady Crew's 36th Anniversary Concert featuring a reunion performance by Pete Rock & C.L Smooth, Brand Nubian (Sadat X, Lord Jamar and Grand Puba), Special Ed and Craig G with Q-Unique, Homeboy Sandman, Torae and Rasheed Chappell. The July 28 show is a part of the 'This is Hip Hop' series and will be hosted by EOW with DJ Evil Dee and DJ JS-1. The show runs from 3:00-7:00 p.m. in Central Park with a recommended arrival time of 2:00 p.m.

According to the Daily Mail, Josie Rourke's Donmar Warehouse production of Conor McPherson's THE WEIR will be transferring to Wyndham's Theatre in the West End, beginning January 16, 2014, for a January 22nd opening. The show stars Risteard Cooper, Brian Cox, Dervla Kirwan, Peter McDonald and Ardal O'Hanlon.

Rising Phoenix Rep and Kid Brooklyn Productions have announced their first collaboration, The Beach Plays, a production of five newly commissioned short plays written to be performed on San Francisco's Ocean Beach. The plays will be fully produced and presented environmentally, with audiences gathering in front of the gift shop at The Cliff House at 1090 Point Lobos Ave, San Francisco, Calif., and traveling to and through the plays on foot.

Both have music by Igor Stravinsky and choreography by George Balanchine. This free event, under the stars in Grand Park and open to everyone, is part of the broad array of free public events The Music Center is presenting at Grand Park. OPERA America, the national nonprofit service organization for opera, is pleased to announce details of Opera Conference 2013: Opera Out of Bounds, to be held in Vancouver, British Columbia from May 7-11. Co-hosted by Vancouver Opera, and in association with Opera.ca and Opera Volunteers International, this largest annual gathering of opera professionals in North America will convene at venues in the bustling downtown section of the city. This marks the second time that the conference is being held in Vancouver; the city previously hosted in 1999.

New York City Ballet's 2013-14 Season at Lincoln Center will feature performances of 50 ballets in celebration of New York City Ballet's 50th anniversary at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, which has been the Company's home since the New York State Theater (now the David H. Koch Theater) opened in April of 1964.

Northrop at the University of Minnesota and Emily Johnson received a $30,000 MAP Fund grant to support the incubation and development of Emily Johnson's SHORE, set to premiere at Northrop in June of 2014 and a $155,000 Doris Duke Residency to Build Demand for the Arts to support a partnership between Northrop and Johnson designed to create greater demand for contemporary dance throughout the region, particularly in Native American communities. Johnson will work in residence at the University of Minnesota's Institute for Advanced Study during 2013-14.

Today the Donmar Warehouse announces the cast for The Weir, which will be followed by the world premiere of a new play also by Conor McPherson this June. The casts for both shows represent a gathering of some of the finest exponents of McPherson's work and the back to back productions will allow audiences to see his latest work alongside his recognised masterpiece. Tony Waag, Artistic/Executive Director, announced that the Jazz at Lincoln Center's Middle School Jazz Academy will be joining the Concert.

On Thursday, February 14, Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz and wife Jamie joined hundreds of Brooklyn sweethearts who have been married to one another for 50 years or more, including Kings County District Attorney Charles 'Joe' Hynes and bride Patricia, who will celebrate a half century of wedded bliss this October.
