Selfless Self Press Releases Additional Translations of Ramakant Maharaj's Essential Teachings
by Christina Mancuso - Jul 22, 2016

Selfless Self Press, (SSP) has added Spanish, French, Dutch, Portuguese and other languages to its list of books on the teachings of Self-Realized Master, Shri Ramakant Maharaj. Demand continues both at home and abroad for the authorized and definitive book of teachings, 'Selfless Self: Talks with Shri Ramakant Maharaj.' Its popularity can perhaps be attributed to the fact that such high and rare knowledge, has not been heard with such clarity and power, since the days of the legendary Nisargadatta Maharaj - Shri Ramakant's very own Master since 1962. SSP is now happy to announce more publications - of what has been hailed as a 21st century spiritual classic by respected figures in the Advaita circles. These latest editions now available in French, Dutch and Spanish are entitled: 'Soi sans soi', 'Zelfloos Zelf' and 'El Ser sin ser', respectively. Portuguese, German, Polish and Japanese translations will follow in the near future. 'Be with You - Thoughtless Reality', the small pocket book of Shri Ramakant's spontaneous quotations, designed to awaken the reader, is also a favourite. 'Be with You' is now available in French, Spanish and Portuguese, namely: 'Soyez avec Vous', 'Estar Contigo' and 'Esteja Com Voce'. Staff at SSP talked about other projects for 'Be with You': 'We currently have Dutch, German, Italian, Polish and Hebrew translations ongoing. In addition to these, we have produced an audiobook of 'Be with You', narrated by Ann Shaw, the editor of these books - available from iTunes. The audiobook is an attractive medium especially for books on meditation, like this one. The words of the Guru can pierce the heart of the reader! Listening therefore, as well as reading, can increase concentration on this powerful, direct knowledge that flows from Guru Shri Ramakant. It is a very useful way of awakening the meditator, by aiding penetration and absorption of these teachings.' People are gradually hearing of 'Selfless Self' by word of mouth. At the same time, both excellent feedback and reviews continue to boost its profile. This month, the prestigious Sri Ramanansramam's 'Mountain Path' quarterly journal published a very favourable review of the book. The editor, Christopher Quilkey, highlighted the uniqueness and transforming power of 'Selfless Self: 'This book may appear to be just another recitation of the familiar party line of Advaita but what differentiates it is the obvious sincerity and one pointed focus and power of the teaching. This book too is not for the casually inquisitive or faint hearted. One has to breathe this book not think it. There is more happening in the dialogues than words can say. After reading through this book I have come to the conclusion that to be in the presence of Ramakant Maharaj is to enter another dimension of understanding.' 'Selfless Self' was first published in April 2015. Since its launch, it has deeply impacted countless truth seekers. Many have expressed their gratitude for the Book that answers the ultimate question of 'Who am I?' and for finally bringing their journey of Self-discovery to completion. Some of them will be able to thank Shri Ramakant personally, during his visit to the USA in September of this year, where he will be holding Satsang, free of charge. All books from Selfless Self Press are available from Amazon. Further information from: admin@selfless-self.com

For the eighth season, charming and sensational pianist Orli Shaham serves as the series' curator/host, leading this matinee of music on Sunday, Feb. 28, at 3 p.m., in the Samueli Theater at Segerstrom Center for the Arts. Attendees are seated at small tables and enjoy sweet treats, coffee and tea, served in a relaxed café setting, while listening to music performed by Symphony musicians: Paul Manaster, violin; Bridget Dolkas, violin; Robert Becker, viola; Timothy Landauer, cello; Benjamin Smolen, flute; David Chang, clarinet; and Barry Perkins, trumpet. About the Playwright: Harold Pinter
by Roundabout Theatre Company - Sep 29, 2015

Harold Pinter was born in Hackney, in London's East End, in October of 1930. An only child, he was born to Jewish parents of very moderate means; his father, a tailor, and his mother, a homemaker, were first-generation descendants of Eastern European immigrants. Like many of his contemporaries, Pinter's childhood was shaped by the onslaught of World War II; at the age of nine, he was evacuated from London through Operation Pied Piper and resettled in a town in Cornwall. The sense of isolation he felt in Cornwall would come to influence his work, as would the changed London to which he returned during the Blitz, where he was witness to, as his 2008 Guardianobituary put it, 'the dramatic nature of wartime life - the palpable fear, the sexual desperation, the genuine sense that everything could end tomorrow.'

After seeing the new INTO THE WOODS movie twice over the holidays, I posted on Twitter about how two of the songs had stuck with me. After a tweet conversation, my BWW colleague Jeff Walker and I decided to put our heads together to try and come up with a list of Sondheim's most hummable tunes. Despite not discussing it beforehand, Jeff ended up picking songs from the 1960s and 70s, and I filled in the gaps with numbers from the 80s and 90s.
