Broadway veterans Carole Demas, who originated the role of Sandy in Grease, and Sarah Rice, who originated the role of Johanna in Sweeney Todd, have teamed up to celebrate the music of Tom Jones and Harvey Schmidt, composers of THE FANTASTICKS, 110 IN THE SHADE, and I DO! I DO! and more. Demas and Rice have based their show on their 50 years of work and personal relationships with Jones and Schmidt.

According to the San Diego Tribune, touring presenter Broadway/San Diego has announced that it will be severing ties with actor Ben Vereen, following allegations of sexual assault. As BroadwayWorld previously reported, Vereen was accused of sexual assault by multiple women during a production of Hair he directed in Florida in 2015.

The Daily News is reporting that several actresses have accused Broadway veteran Ben Vereen of sexual assault during a production of Hair he directed in Florida in 2015. The women say that Vereen made physical advances such as unwanted kisses and hugs, as well as verbal abuse about the actresses' weight, sex appeal, and personal lives.

This romantic fantasy, set in royal court and enchanted forest, weaves together four plots all joined to the upcoming nuptials of the Duke and his Amazon queen. Elena Araoz, a critically-acclaimed New York-based director of opera and theater, will direct Shakespeare Festival St. Louis' production of Romeo and Juliet, June 1-24, at Shakespeare Glen in Forest Park. The director originally slated for the production, Taibi Magar, has taken an Off-Broadway project at The Atlantic Theatre Company that will conflict with the St. Louis production dates.
