Rarely produced in full, Metropolitan Ensemble Theatre (MET) presents the entirety of Horton Foote's nine-act  Magnus Opus “The Orphans' Home Cycle” running in repertory through November 18, 2018. This massive production utilizes over 30 veteran performers from across the Metro KC area in 64 roles throughout the expansive production.  

Based on the books by P.L. Travers and the classic Walt Disney film, Disney and Cameron Mackintosh's "Mary Poppins" delighted Broadway audiences for over 2,500 performances and received nominations for nine Olivier and seven Tony Awards, including Best Musical.

The Adelphi Orchestra will feature Randall Mitsuo Goosby, Violin (First Prize winner of the Adelphi Orchestra Competition, First Prize winner of the Sphinx Competition ) in the rarely performed and defiantly triumphant Korngold Concerto for Violin in D major, Op. 35. Randall Goosby's performance of the Korngold Violin Concerto will be the centerpiece in a program entitled "From Vienna with Love" which will also feature Strauss's Overture to Die Fledermaus and concludes with the beautiful Symphony no 2 in D major by Brahms. The concert,  conducted by Richard Owen on Sunday October 27th at 7PM will take place at  NYC's historic Good Shepherd - Faith Presbyterian Church located in the heart of Lincoln Center. Robert Browning Associates celebrates 42 years of presenting world music in New York with three internationally renowned performers of Indian music, Mita Nag, Hassan Haider & Subhen Chatterje performing Classical Music of India today, September 29, 2018 at 8:00pm at Roulette, 509 Atlantic Avenue at 3rd Avenue, Downtown Brooklyn.

This special concert brings together three outstanding performers of Indian music and provides an opportunity to hear the shehnai (oboe), an instrument rarely heard in the Indian classical repertoire today. Featured are Mita Nag, a master of improvisation, who comes from a famous family of musicians, including her father, veteran sitarist Manilal Nag, and grandfather, master musician Gokul Nag; the brilliant shehnai player Hassan Haider, son and disciple of the famed maestro Ali Ahmed Hussain, who has performed and toured internationally with his father and other notable artists; and Subhen Chatterjee, a powerful tabla player and disciple of Swapan Chaudhuri, who has appeared with many of India's major artists.

Actress Crystal Kurek returns to a role some contend she was destined from birth to play, as she stars as the eponymous "practically perfect" nanny in Disney and Cameron Macintosh's Mary Poppins, opening this Friday night at Springhouse Theater in Smyrna. Fort Worth Opera (FWOpera) announced today the casts and creative teams for the 2019 Festival season, including the world premiere of composer-librettist Rachel J. Peters's delightfully wicked opera, Companionship. Adapted from the short story by internationally bestselling author Arthur Phillips, this delicious dark comedy about an obsession with dough, mirrors our modern world, where what we consume becomes all-consuming. Selected as a winner of the 2018 FWOpera Frontiers showcase, the work will receive a fully staged production next spring at the Fort Worth Botanic Garden, as part of FWOpera's alternative venue series, Opera Unbound.

Since releasing their first 7-inch in 1989, Superchunk has run the gamut of milestone albums: early punk rock stompers, polished mid-career masterpieces, and lush, adventurous curveballs.

Mint Theater (Jonathan Bank, Producing Artistic Director) today announced the cast for a rare reading of Ferenc Molnar's Liliom which will be presented for one night only, onMonday, June 11 at 7pm at Theatre Row (410 West 42nd Street).  Liliom was turned into the musical Carousel by Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II which is now enjoying a successful revival on Broadway.

Midcoast Youth Theater (MYT) presents their upcoming production of Disney and Cameron Mackintosh's Mary Poppins, a musical based on the stories of P.L. Travers and the Walt Disney Film. The show is directed by Tammy Holmes and includes MYT's largest ever cast of almost 120 members ranging in age from 4-70 from Brunswick, Topsham, Harpswell, Bath, Freeport, Gray, Edgecomb, Gardiner and other surrounding areas.
