In the theatre it is well known that; no matter what, the show must go on. This sentiment has rarely been portrayed so poignantly as it is in Ronald Harwood's Olivier award-nominated play The Dresser. First performed in 1980, the play returns to the West End in a fabulous revival of the tragic comedy that delves into the psyche of an actor well past his prime.

Museum of the Moving Image will present the most comprehensive U.S. retrospective of all of the Polish director's features, short films, early documentary work, and a marathon viewing of the Dekalog, from October 7 through November 6, 2016. The series will also include four posthumous works based on Kieslowski's unproduced screenplays.

Manhattan Theatre Club's New York premiere of Vietgone, the new play by Qui Nguyen (She Kills Monsters), directed by May Adrales (Luce), begins previews tonight, October 4, in advance of a Tuesday, October 25 opening night at MTC at New York City Center - Stage I (131 West 55th Street).

Haven Theatre Company announces How We Got On to begin their fourth season, written by Idris Goodwin and directed by Jess McLeod, at the company's new home within the Den Theatre's new Bookspan Theatre, 1335 Milwaukee Ave., September 29 - November 12. Bristol Riverside Theatre presents WORKING based on Studs Terkel's best-selling book and featuring songs by Lin-Manuel Miranda (Hamilton), Stephen Schwartz (Pippin, Wicked), and James Taylor running November 1-20.  Directed by Keith Baker, the ensemble cast features Demetria Joyce Bailey, Philip Chaffin, Laura Giknis, Tamar Greene, Jenny Lee Stern, and Kevin Toniazzo-Naughton.

Second Stage Theatre (Carole Rothman, Artistic Director, Casey Reitz, Executive Director) has announced that Tony Award winner Reed Birney (The Humans) will star in the leading role of Ken Carpenter in the upcoming New York premiere production of Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winner Tracy Lett's 2003 play, MAN FROM NEBRASKA, directed by David Cromer. Mr. Birney has previously appeared in three Second Stage productions - The Family of Mann, Loose Knit, and Winterplay.

Presented for the first time in the Southern Tier, Chenango River Theatre's final show of their 10th season features the regional premiere of Taking Sides, a provocative 1995 Holocaust drama written by Ronald Harwood (Academy-Award winning writer ofThe Pianist and The Dresser).  Set in the ruins of post-war Berlin and loosely based onworld famous German conductor Wilhelm Furtwangler's own diaries, this provocative drama explores Furtwangler's possible complicity in Nazi war crimes.

United Solo Festival will present writer/performer Phil Johnson in his latest solo work, A Jewish Joke - a drama about comedy as relevant today is it was during the McCarthy era - in a single performance today, September 17th at 4pm at The Studio Theatre @ Theatre Row (410 West 42nd Street - just east of Broadway.)

During my week in New York, I had the opportunity to interview Tina Stafford after watching the off broadway show she is in called Liberty. Tina is a working actress in New York City and was a part of the tour of Once the musical. It was really interesting talking to Tina and learning about what it's like to be an actress in New York City. Here are the questions I asked her and her responses!

Edward Fox is to star in a new play, Sand in the Sandwiches by Hugh Whitemore, which celebrates the life and work of John Betjeman. Directed by Gareth Armstrong, the production will premiere at Oxford Playhouse on 25 October 2016 followed by a UK tour visiting the Minerva Theatre Chichester, Yvonne Arnaud Theatre Guildford, Exeter Northcott Theatre, Salisbury Playhouse and culminating with a final performance at the Folkestone Book Festival on 24 November 2016. Tickets are now on sale.

More than 410 Elly nominees for the 2015-16 season were announced at an informal nomination reception on Sunday, August 7, 2016 beginning at 7pm. More than 100 actors, directors, technicians, and producers were on hand to listen excitedly for their names to be called.  This year's theme is Some Enchanted Ellys.

?Based on the critically acclaimed memoir Not Even Wrong, Wild Boy tells two stories - that of Paul and Jennifer Collins, who learn that their toddler, Morgan, may be autistic, and that of Peter "the Wild Boy," an 18th century boy found mute and feral in the woods by King George I. Written by Oliver Goldstick, Wild Boy looks at what it really means to be human.

Artistic Director Anda Winters today announces Print Room at the Coronet's forthcoming season running through until December 2016. The season opens with Tennessee Williams' A Lovely Sunday for Creve Coeur, directed by Michael Oakley. The production opens in the main theatre space on 15 September, with previews from 12 September, and runs until 7 October.
