In THE AMATEURS, a scrappy troupe of pageant players races across 14th-century Europe, struggling to outrun the Black Death -- and medieval subscribers. The arrival of a mysterious new actor sends Hollis, the leading lady, in search of answers that can only be found off-script... and soon one century's plague begins to look a lot like another, more recent, one. This wildly inventive and funny new work examines the origins of creativity: When does a crisis destroy art, and when does it set it spinning?

BWW Review: MENOPAUSE THE MUSICAL Leaves the Crowd Laughing and Dancing at Riverside's Fox Performing Arts Center
by Audrey Liebross - Sep 28, 2015

MENOPAUSE THE MUSICAL-THE SURVIVOR TOUR is a great deal of fun. Each bouncy number has plenty of clever lyrics and deliberately silly choreography to keep the audience laughing. It is almost impossible not to clap and dance along with the performers as they perform such antics as playing instruments consisting of kitchen implements while singing 'The sheets are wet, the sheets are wet,' in a send-up of 'The Lion Sleeps Tonight.' BWW Review: DIRTY DANCING National Tour
by Keith Waits - Oct 19, 2015

To begin at the end: the stage production of Dirty Dancing brought cheers and screams from the opening night audience of the Broadway in Louisville at Johnny's iconic line about Baby and at the even more iconic dance number following that flooded the stage. Gillian Abbott and Christopher Tierney, respectively, inhabit these roles with enough of a nod to the originals (Jennifer Grey and the late Patrick Swayze) that audiences are swept back to the 1987 movie. BWW Review: Entertaining Comedy BREATH OF SPRING Opens New Season at Theatre 40
by Shari Barrett - Jul 25, 2016

Production teams at Theatre 40 expertly present mid-20th Century British comedy better than almost any other theater in town. So it was no surprise to find out the group decided to present the riotous BREATH OF SPRING by Peter Coke to open their 51st season, directed by Bruce Gray and produced by David Hunt Stafford, the dynamic duo production team who have brought so many great shows to their stage. Written in 1958, BREATH OF SPRING has nothing to do with the season. In fact, it is a type of silver mink highly prized among fur aficionados. And while we may have differing opinions about wearing fur, there is no doubt in the mid-20th Century that lovely fur coats, stoles and jackets were often worn not only to keep warm but to show the wearer had "made it" into high society.
