Today, in time for the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington, the Newseum opens "Make Some Noise: Students and the Civil Rights Movement," an exhibit that explores the new generation of student leaders in the early 1960s who fought segregation by exercising their First Amendment rights and making their voices heard.

On August 15, Timmy the Great, a mad-cap musical comedy written by noted poet, writer, columnist, film maker, producer, playwright and educator Sandra Hochman will debut Off-Broadway at the Theater for the New City. Appealing to audiences of all age, the play comically chronicles the unlikely rise to power of a nine-year-old boy who champions reform that leads to chaos while confronting the irony of war. Timmy the Great features more than 21 songs co-written by Hochman and Gary Kupper, composer and lyricist of the popular children's musical Freckleface Strawberry, based on the New York Times best-selling children's book by Julianne Moore.

The 2013 'Made in NY' honorees include: Tony and Olivier Award-winning actor Alan Cumming; 'Project Runway' host and executive producer Heidi Klum; two time Oscar-nominated director Spike Lee; five time Tony Award-winning singer and actress Audra McDonald; President of HBO Documentary Films Sheila Nevins; NYC-based blogging platform and social networking website Tumblr; and Harvey and Bob Weinstein, founders of The Weinstein Company and Miramax Films. This year's 'Made in NY' Mayor's Award for Lifetime Achievement was presented to Emmy Award-winning television host and broadcast journalist Barbara Walters. CBS News legend Mike Wallace, the 60 MINUTES' pit-bull reporter whose probing, brazen style made his name synonymous with the tough interview - a style he practically invented for television more than half a century ago - died last night. He was 93 and passed peacefully surrounded by family members at Waveny Care Center in New Canaan, Conn., where he spent the past few years.
