Westport Country Playhouse will present a Script in Hand playreading of the romantic comedy, “Maytag Virgin,” written and directed by southern regionalist Audrey Cefaly, on Monday, August 21, at 7 p.m. The play was voted “Best Comedy” in Atlanta by artsATL.com in 2018.

Westport Country Playhouse's board of trustees have announced that director, playwright, and actor Mark Shanahan has been named as incoming artistic director for the 2024-25 season.
