With two visiting orchestras, classical landmarks by Haydn, Beethoven, and Schumann, high-status guest artists, two World Premieres, and the continuation of the films with live orchestra series, the Toronto Symphony Orchestra (TSO) offers heart-warming music for the cold month of February. The American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) announced today that it will air the American Football Coaches Awards, featuring the AFCA National Coach of the Year, on CBS Sports Network on January 10, 2017 at 9 p.m. EST one day after the national championship game.

LA Opera will celebrate Halloween with two screenings of the 1922 silent classic Nosferatu, featuring a new score created by Matthew Aucoin, the company's new Artist in Residence. One of the greatest horror films ever made, the supremely creepy vampire thriller will be accompanied live by Mr. Aucoin conducting a chamber ensemble of musicians from the LA Opera Orchestra and soprano soloist Liv Redpath, a member of the company's Domingo-Colburn-Stein Young Artist Program. Presented as part of the company's Off Grand initiative, the screenings will take place on October 29 and 31 at the Theatre at Ace Hotel.

The Tony-nominated director Eleanor Reissa is set to helm New Yiddish Rep's contemporary staging of Sholem Asch's notorious drama 'God of Vengeance' at La MaMa this winter. The Yiddish language production's Off-Broadway opening is on Christmas Day, Sunday December 25 at 7:30pm with previews beginning Thursday December 22.  It will run for five weeks and 33 performances through Sunday January 22.

Full casting is announced today for the UK premiere of the hit Off Broadway musical ADDING MACHINE: A MUSICAL, composed by Joshua Schmidt, with libretto by Jason Loewith and Joshua Schmidt, and based on the classic play by Elmer Rice. Josh Seymour directs Joseph Alessi (Mr Zero), Kate Milner-Evans (Mrs Zero), Joanna Kirkland (Daisy Dorothea Devore) and Edd Campbell Bird (Shrdlu), with James Dinsmore (Mr One and as cast), Helen Walsh (Mrs One and as cast), George Rae (Mr Two and as cast), and Sue Appleby (Mrs Two and as cast). The production opens at the Finborough Theatre on Wednesday 28 September 2016 (Press Nights: Friday 30 September and Saturday 1 October 2016 at 7.30pm).

The Cincinnati Shakespeare Company, in collaboration with the Center for Holocaust and Humanities Education, is pleased to present two special guest speakers during our production of The Diary of Anne Frank.  These talks, given by local survivors of the Holocaust, are open to all ticket-holders for The Diary of Anne Frank, so please feel free to attend one of these rare opportunities if you've purchased a ticket for another night. These talks will be held on Saturday, September 10 at 6:30 PM and Sunday, September 18, at 4:30 PM. 

The star of Yiddish Theatre and Emmy Award winner was 93 years old.

The American Cinematheque announced today that the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) has awarded a $500,000 grant to fund maintenance and essential technical upgrades to the historic 1922 Egyptian Theatre, a designated historic cultural monument situated on iconic Hollywood Boulevard. News of this grant comes less than a week after the HFPA announced at their annual Grants Banquet a completely separate donation of $350,000 to help make the theatre capable of screening 35mm nitrate film prints, a grant that was made through The Film Foundation which is coordinating the project.
