NBC has announced the first group of world-renowned, superstar acts who will compete on the all-new winter edition of TV's #1 alternative series, “America's Got Talent: The Champions,” premiering Monday, Jan. 7 from 8-10 p.m. ET/PT.

The award-winning New London Barn Playhouse has announced the line-up for their 2019 Summer Season. The 87th Season is jam-packed with Broadway hits, and when the Barn opens for the season in June they'll be continuing a legacy of award-winning theater that audiences have come to expect and love.

The McCallum Theatre presents Ukelele Wizard Jake Shimabukuro on Tuesday, November 27, at 8:00pm. Jake Shimabukuro has not only redefined what his instrument can do, but has spread the ukulele's popularity to a new audience. His star began to rise in 2006 with a viral YouTube performance of "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" (over 14 million views). Called "the Paganini of the ukulele," he's been declared a "musical hero" by Rolling Stone and earned comparisons to music icons Jimi Hendrix and Miles Davis. Jake Shimabukuro is known for his masterful interpretations of songs by Sting, Leonard Cohen, George Harrison, Adele, Queen and many others.

The Bronx Museum of the Arts is pleased to announce its new exhibition and artist workspace at 80 White Street in Lower Manhattan, which will be known as The Block Gallery. The name was chosen in honor of the late Bronx Museum Executive Director Holly Block. It will welcome the first artist residents in January, 2019.

Passion River Films announced today that they have secured North American rights to LATE LIFE: THE CHIEN-MING WANG STORY, directed by Frank W. Chen. The film will open in NY October 26 and expand to select theaters across the country.

Eastender's Rita Simmons is to join the previously announced Joe McFadden in the world premiere production of Peter James' spine-chilling The House on Cold Hill which is to run at Theatre Royal, Glasgow next spring.

As previously announced, the thrilling work of multi-million selling author Peter James returns to theatres in January 2019 with the world premiere production of the spine-chilling stage play The House on Cold Hill - Adapted from his best-selling 2015 novel and based on the author's own real-life experience in a haunted house, the play will star the previously announced, BAFTA nominated actor and winner of BBC1's Strictly Come Dancing 2017, Joe McFadden (The Crow Road, Heartbeat, Holby City) as 'Ollie Harcourt' and joining him, as his wife 'Caro Harcourt', will be award winning actress Rita Simons, (who played the iconic Roxy Mitchell in Eastenders), as well as award winning actors, Charlie Clements ('Bradley' in EastEnders) as 'Chris', and Persephone Swales-Dawson (villainess 'Nico Blake' in Hollyoaks) as 'Jade', making her professional stage debut.

Mystery on the moors becomes comedy on the seacoast, as the Seacoast Repertory Theatre enters the spooky season with Baskerville: A Sherlock Holmes Mystery, a farce based on the Arthur Conan Doyle classic novel 'The Hound of the Baskervilles.'

Adam Bock's A Life, commissioned by Portland Center Stage at The Armory, will receive its West Coast debut at The Armory following the success of the play's world premiere in New York. A Life begins preview performances on September 29, opens on October 5, and runs through November 11 in the Ellyn Bye Studio. Associate Artistic Director Rose Riordan, who has frequently partnered with Bock, will direct. Nat DeWolf (Broadway: Take Me Out) will make his company debut as the astrology-loving and hopelessly single Nate Martin. DeWolf is joined by Cycerli Ash, also making her debut at The Armory, as well as returning artists Dana Green (Major Barbara and many others) and Gary Norman (Our Town).

The Apollo Theater announced today that Grammy nominated singer/songwriter Alice Smith will headline the Apollo's WOW – Women of the World Festival. The performance, featuring new music from her upcoming Full LP Mystery set to release at the end of 2018, is a part of the 3rd annual gathering of artists, activists, and leaders from around the globe at the Apollo Theater beginning March 12 and running through March 17, 2019.  Smith will bring her intoxicating mix of R&B, pop and rock along with a special musical tribute to the world famous Apollo Theater stage on Friday, March 15, 2019 at 8pm.

The arrival of Creedence Clearwater Revival's 50th anniversary brings an unprecedented celebration of everything the band contributed in their short but startlingly epochal time together (1968 - 1972). SKB Records has announced the tenth month of the groundbreaking new music and video series LENA HALL Obsessed from the Tony Award winner and Grammy nominee. 

The legendary Rufus and Martha Wainwright Christmas show, "Noel Nights," is returning to New York City after a four-year hiatus. Chance Theater, Anaheim's official resident theater company, is delighted to present an encore presentation of Fancy Nancy, The Musical as part of its fourth TYA Family Season. Book and lyrics by Susan DiLallo, music by Danny Abosch and directed by Alex Bueno, based on original staging by Kelly Todd, Fancy Nancy, the Musical will preview from October 5 through October 7; regular performances will begin October 7th and continue through October 28 on the Cripe Stage at Chance Theater @ Bette Aitken theater arts Center.

After twelve years at the artistic helm of the 'choir that inspired the nation' in the ground breaking, award winning ABC TV series 'Choir of Hard Knocks', Founding Artistic Director Dr Jonathon Welch AM announced his retirement last week from the choir at the end of December 2018.

The 2014 Ebola outbreak is remembered as one of the most widely feared epidemics in recent memory. As the virus spread through West Africa, hysterical media reports outside the region fanned the flames of anxiety. However, according to Sierra Leonean filmmaker Arthur Pratt, the “role that locals played in combating the outbreak was grossly underreported.” Pratt adds that “preoccupation with the foreign experience” overshadowed the contributions of West Africans.
