Laguna Playhouse is thrilled to announce the fifth show in the Laguna Playhouse 2016-2017 season, a world premiere musical KING OF THE ROAD: THE ROGER MILLER STORY, written by Cort Casady & Mary Arnold Miller, music by Roger Miller, musical direction by Omar D. Brancato and directed by Andrew Barnicle.

Prince's Paisley Park in Chanhassen, Minnesota started Celebration 2017 today with exciting speakers and performers participating in the four days of activities. All events are being held at Prince's historic recording sanctuary outside Minneapolis, honoring the life and legacy of the music icon Prince Rogers Nelson.

MasterVoices (formerly The Collegiate Chorale), closes its 75th anniversary season with Victor Herbert's Babes in Toyland on April 27, 2017 at 7pm at Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage at Carnegie Hall (57th Street and 7th Avenue, New York, NY 10019). The production will be conducted and directed by MasterVoices' Artistic Director Ted Sperling and will feature Kelli O'Hara (Contrary Mary), Bill Irwin (Master Toymaker), Christopher Fitzgerald (Alan), Lauren Worsham (Jane), Jay Armstrong Johnson (Tom Tom), Jonathan Freeman (Uncle Barnaby), Chris Sullivan (Gonzorgo), Jeffrey Schecter (Roderigo), Michael Kostroff (Chief Inspector Marmaduke), and Blair Brown (The Narrator), with the 130 singers of MasterVoices and Orchestra of St. Luke's. Playwrights Horizons has announced, following critical acclaim and popular demand, a one-week extension for The Profane, the world premiere of a new play by Horton Foote Prize winner Zayd Dohrn (Sick, Reborning) and directed by Kip Fagan (Grand Concourse at Playwrights, Exit Strategy).

McCarter Theatre Center closes the 2016-2017 Theater Series with a new production of Pulitzer Prize-winner Lynn Nottage's Intimate Apparel, a story of an African-American seamstress living in 1905 New York City pursuing her dreams of love and independence. Directed by Jade King Carroll, Intimate Apparel will run from May 5 to June 4.

A charming though perplexing adaptation of the 2004 film, FINDING NEVERLAND jets into too many erratic directions at any given moment and doesn't gel completely as a whole. And for all its gorgeous, visual splendor, it is surprisingly lacking in honest-to-goodness stage magic. The touring version of the 2015 Broadway stage musical adaptation continues at OC's Segerstrom Center for the Arts in Costa Mesa through April 2, 2017.

This spring, Joe's Pub at The Public welcomes a lineup of singer-songwriters that redefine the traditional conventions of the title. A Joe's Pub favorite, Lady Rizo is a cabaret star with songwriter chops, who will debut a new show, Red, White & Indigo, all about her love-hate relationship with America, and tease her forthcoming album Indigo from March 23-25.

The New York Choral Society (NYCHORAL) under the direction of its Music Director David Hayes will give the New York Premiere of celebrated Scottish composer James MacMillan's St. Luke Passion. NYCHORAL will be joined by organist Jason Roberts as well as the remarkable Brooklyn Youth Chorus under Artistic Director Dianne Berkun Menaker. James MacMillan's St. Luke Passion, written in 2013, is the second of four planned works, each based on one of the Gospels which aim to approach the differing passion accounts from contrasting stylistic per-spectives.
