Sarasota Opera announced its 2019-2020 Fall and Winter Festival Seasons today at a press conference held on the Sarasota Opera House main stage in Sarasota, Florida. Producers Anita Greenspan and Tony Hawk with Executive producer Adam Zotovich announced today that a new musical adaptation of the 2007 Nick Hornby novel, SLAM, is in development. This new project will feature a book by Tony Award Nominee Kyle Jarrow (SpongeBob SquarePants the Musical) with music and lyrics by Mark Mothersbaugh (prolific film composer, co-founder of new wave band Devo). Pro-skater Tony Hawk, who is featured as a character in the novel, is a producer on the project and is slated to develop skate choreography.

Nicolas Talar for Enzo Products Ltd and Adam Blanshay Productions have announced the full casting for Notre Dame de Paris. Twenty years after its Parisian debut, and after receiving international acclaim in 23 countries worldwide, the French musical is set to be performed at London Coliseum. The original French production in London will be performed with English surtitles and a live orchestra from Wednesday 23 Sunday 27 January 2019, with a national press night on Wednesday 23 January 2019 at 7pm. The London run will culminate with the 5,000th performance of the worldwide hit show.

Sarasota Opera will celebrate its 60th Season when the 2019 Winter Opera Festival opens on February 9th with Puccini's Turandot. The festival will continue with Mozart's The Magic Flute, Verdi's Nabucco, and the premiere of a rare and delightful comic double bill: Donizetti's Rita (Two Men and a Woman) and Wolf-Ferrari's Susanna's Secret. Special events, lectures, recitals, and concerts continue through the season. Capping off the festivities will be the Diamond Anniversary recital and dinner on April 5th.

Multi-platinum R&B group B2K (Omarion, Boog, Fizz and Raz-B), has announced today that it will kick off a limited engagement tour in March 2019, entitled “The Millennium Tour,” featuring a performance at Prudential Center on Sunday, March 31 at 7:30 p.m. EST.   The Iconic group along with special guests; Mario, Pretty Ricky, Lloyd, Ying Yang Twins, Chingy, and Bobby V - will visit over 25 cities across the U.S.  The tour is produced by G-Squared Events in association with Omarionu Worldwide, Hall of Fame Entertainment, and Blvd. Music.

Dixie's Tupperware Party, the hilarious off-Broadway one-woman comedy starring Dixie Longate, which took the theater world by storm and garnered a prestigious Drama Desk Award nomination, returns to Los Angeles at the Kirk Douglas Theatre for a strictly limited engagement now through December 30.

The Theatre Artists Workshop in Norwalk will present a staged reading of the Broadway hit 'God of Carnage' by Yasmina Reza, translated by Christopher Hampton, on November 16 and 17 at 8 p.m. and November 18 at 3 p.m. Theatre Artists Workshop is located at 5 Gregory Boulevard in Norwalk.
