The 22nd Annual GYPSY OF THE YEAR Competition raised $3,776,720 for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, thanks to the tireless work of 63 participating Broadway, Off-Broadway and national touring companies, it was announced Tuesday. Since 1989, the 22 editions of GYPSY OF THE YEAR have raised a total of $44,137,415 to benefit BC/EFA.

A positive tale of perseverance and passion, Standing Ovation arrives in theaters on July 16, 2010, featuring 20 original songs and 13 never-before-seen dance numbers that showcase a cast of talented young newcomers as they learn the importance of loyalty, friendship and family on a journey to fulfilling their dreams. Featuring actors, singers, songwriters, dancers, gymnasts and musicians from Philadelphia, Atlantic City and the surrounding areas, Standing Ovation reveals the undiscovered talent and drive of the East Coast's youth. Production has begun on One Day, the feature film version of the internationally praised novel of the same name by David Nicholls, which this month enters The New York Times bestseller list.
