For one night only the sounds of Philadelphia are coming too Parx Casino, Pennsylvania's #1 casino, this Memorial Day Weekend. The casino's brand-new Xcite Center is set to welcome multiple talented acts with Philadelphia ties coming together for one night only at Xcite Center  The casino welcomes The Sounds of Philadelphia featuring The Stylistics, The Delfonics, and Harold Melvin's Blue Notes. 105.3 WDAS FM radio personality Patty Jackson will co-host the show that also pays tribute to late WDAS FM radio legend Joe “Butterball” Tamburro. Five dollars from every ticket will be donated to the American Diabetes Association. The legends of the classic sound of the City of Brotherly Love take the stage on Saturday, May 26, 2018 at 7:30pm. Atlantic Theater Company (Neil Pepe, Artistic Director, Jeffory Lawson, Managing Director) has announced its 2018-2019 season productions, including a new musical by Lynn Nottage and Duncan Sheik.

Director Richard Israel is returning to Actors Co-op to helm the musical Violet. At the Co-op he has previously directed Our Town, The Baker's Wife and 110 In The Shade (LA Stage Alliance Ovation Award Winner for Outstanding Musical in an Intimate Venue), among others. Most recently, Richard was the Theatrical Coordinator for the multiple Emmy-award winning HBO series Big Little Lies, directing all of the Avenue Q sequences in the series. Regional theatre credits include West Side Story, Rent and Floyd Collins (LA Stage Alliance Ovation Awards for Direction and Outstanding Musical in a Large Venue) for McCoy-Rigby Ent.; Kiss Me Kate and Once Upon A Mattress for Cabrillo Music Theatre; the multiple Ovation award-nominated Having It All for the Laguna Playhouse; and Meet Me In St. Louis for MTW. Intimate theatre productions include Bronies The Musical, The Burnt Part Boys, The Full Monty, Avenue Q, Gypsy, Assassins, Big The Musical and the world premiere of Anita Bryant Died For Your Sins. As a resident director for the Musical Theatre Guild, he has directed Women On The Verge, Do I Hear A Waltz, Road Show, High Fidelity and many others. Despite only three Broadway credits, Marin Ireland must be regarded as one of the absolute best actors to regularly grace New York stages during this century. Through her steady work Off-Broadway (15 productions since 2001 and playing leading roles for several of the city's major non-profits) local audiences have seen her portrayals grow from young women of the past sporting underestimated brilliance (SABINA, THE RUBY SUNRISE) to emotionally frazzled contemporary types (MAPLE & VINE, REASONS TO BE PRETTY) and struggling survivors (KILL FLOOR, IRONBOND).

The Artistic Home Ensemble will present the Chicago premiere of Lauren Gunderson's ADA AND THE ENGINE as the final entry in its three-play 2018-19 season, according to company Artistic Director Kathy Scambiatterra, who announced the season today. The 36-year-old Gunderson was the most-produced playwright in America during 2017, according to American Theatre Magazine.

The 2018-19 Signature Theatre Season will feature six works by five resident playwrights, including two productions by Signature's new Residency 1 playwright, Lynn Nottage, and a world premiere musical from Signature's first musical theatre writer-in-residence Dave Malloy, the company announced today.

For her tenth album and first album on a major label in nearly thirty years, legendary soul singer Bettye LaVette takes on the songs of Bob Dylan with the grit and experience that makes her one of the greatest living soul singers. Things Have Changed is a masterpiece of interpretation of one of the greatest songwriters alive, by one of the greatest soul singers alive. Keith Richards and Trombone Shorty guest on the Steve Jordan-produced album, which is set for release on Verve Records on March 30.

It has been billed as the theatrical event of the season: a fully immersive, site-specific production of a modern classic presented inside a women's vintage clothing boutique. Pinup Girl Boutique presents Archway Theatre Company's production of 'The Women' 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, April 6 through April 21. Tickets are $32 general, and $16 for seniors or students.

The Philly POPS announced its 40th Anniversary 2018-19 concert season today. Subscriptions for this celebratory 40th Anniversary Season go on sale at 10 a.m. Moe Septee founded the POPS in November 1979 with a concert at the Academy of Music. Celebrated jazz pianist Peter Nero conducted the POPS from 1979 until 2013.

Olathe Civic Theatre Association (OCTA) begins 2018 with the award-winning musical Violet, an inspiring story of a girl with a disfiguring scar who sets out on a journey to seek healing and finds her true beauty along the way. With book and lyrics by Brian Crawley, music by Jeanine Tesori, and a story based on 'The Ugliest Pilgrim' by Doris Betts, this production is helmed by local theatre veterans Julie Ewing (director) and Kevin Bogan (music director). Violet runs three weekends February 9-25, Fridays and Saturdays at 8 pm and Sundays at 2 pm.

Lynyrd Skynyrd Announces Last of the Street Survivors Farewell Tour Presented by SiriusXM

After a career that has spanned more than 40 years and includes a catalog of more than 60 albums, Southern Rock icons, Lynyrd Skynyrd, will embark on its final Last of the Street Survivors Farewell Tour. Presented by SiriusXM, the tour will stop at Bethel Woods Center for the Arts on Saturday, July 21 to give fans one last memorable night of classic American Rock-and-Roll.
