Review: LITTLE WOMEN THE MUSICAL at University Of Central Arkansas Theatre in Conway
by Theresa Bertram - May 4, 2026

Central Arkansas is blessed with so many talented people (musicians, actors, directors, educators, etc.), and I am thrilled to be able to call them my friends. There are so many great shows in the spring, and unfortunately I can't go see them all, even when I squeeze in dress rehearsals.

Review: THE SECRET CIRCUS THE MUSICAL at Mudlark Theatre
by Tara Bennett - May 4, 2026

The best thing about THE SECRET CIRCUS is that it knows exactly what it is and commits without apology. Chanel Samson and Holly Anne Mitchell's original musical, performed at the intimate Mudlark Theatre in New Orleans, is campy, heartfelt and unabashedly earnest in a way that lesser shows would sand down into palatability. It shouts its secrets out loud and dares you to join in.

Review: Make Farce Funny Again with POTUS at Theater West End
by Albert Gutierrez - May 3, 2026

There’s a strange dichotomy that exists in live theater. I may not like the material, but will still find reason to love its execution. And at Theater West End, they’ve culled together a company of players who help elevate the material of POTUS into a comedy that now exists thanks to their approach to the characters. They form a symbiotic relationship with the audience throughout the two acts to make us still care for them, for their arcs, and for their resolutions – no matter how far-fetched it may seem. This is where the production of POTUS shines.

Review: JETTE PARKER ARTISTS: TALES OF LOVE AND LOSS, Royal Ballet And Opera
by Louise Penn - May 2, 2026

Ana Inés Jabares-Pita's set feels familiar and clearly defines time and place: The Departure remains in the 1960s; Making Arrangements moves into the 1970s, where a woman could choose to live independently; Four Sisters is in the materialistic 1980s, where 'greed is good'. The changes of style in the music are notable, from the almost folk-style melodies of The Departure to the discordance of Making Arrangements and the patchwork of Four Sisters—all in all, an enjoyable evening highlighting women creators and changing social attitudes.
