Americana fiddle maestro Kyle Dillingham is excited to announce he will be embarking on the 2018-2019 American Music Abroad tour, March 24 to April 9, venturing through Kuwait and the Republic of Kosovo. The globe-trotting Oklahoman musician was selected from a pool of over 300 artists, and will be one of only 15 participants in the annual program. Dillingham, along with his Horseshoe Road band-mates, will once again take his musical diplomacy overseas, raising the total number of international countries he's performed in to 39. The tour is organized by The Association of American Voices, and is sponsored by The U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs.

Annalisa Dias, a Producing Playwright with the Welders' Playwrights Collective, has assembled a dynamic, transnational team of collaborators that will be engaging in an emergent devising and creation process throughout 2019. the earth, that is sufficient is part of Dias' ongoing inquiry into contemplative arts practice as a response to the rampant social inequities and anthropogenic climate change caused by late-stage capitalism. The development process of the earth, that is sufficient is grounded in emergent process design (building off of Adrienne Maree Brown's definition of Emergent Strategy).

Following the success of her Sense and Sensibility at the Folger Theatre in 2016, Wall Street Journal's Playwright of the Year 2017 Kate Hamill, returns to D.C. with her adaptation of William Makepeace Thackeray's classic novel Vanity Fair. Hamill's vibrant and colorful tale about society's foibles is a co-production with San Francisco's American Conservatory Theater. Directed by Jessica Stone and featuring Rebekah Brockman as Becky Sharp, the production will run at the Lansburgh Theatre (450 7th Street, NW) from February 26 through March 31, 2019.

Combining music, caricature sketches, projected images, costumes, and text, The Harlequin Salon opens a door into the glittering world of Pier Leone Ghezzi - renowned painter, consummate party host, and history's first professional caricaturist. The Harlequin Salon features guest artists Roberta Invernizzi, soprano, and Dino Goncalves, actor, with stage direction by Guillaume Bernardi (Frankfurt Opera, Canadian Opera Company, Trisha Brown Dance Company). GRAMMY® Award winner Patty Griffin has announced the release of her long-awaited new album. The acclaimed singer-songwriter's 10th studio recording and first-ever eponymous LP, PATTY GRIFFIN arrives Friday, March 8 on her own PGM Recordings label via Thirty Tigers. The album was recorded predominantly at Griffin's home in Austin, TX, with Griffin and longtime collaborator Craig Ross co-producing, while the band is made up of a number of friends and frequent accompanists, including Ross, guitarist David Pulkingham, drummer/percussionist Conrad Choucroun, cellist Lindsey Verrill, pianist Stephen Barber, and Robert Plant, who contributes backing vocals to the LP's 'What Now' and 'Coins.'

The Opera de Montreal opened its 39th season on September 15th, 2018 with Giuseppe Verdi's opera Rigoletto at the Salle Wilfrid-Pelletier in Place des Arts. This 19th-century classic is steered by well-known director Michael Cavanagh as well as Italian conductor Carlo Montanaro, who leads the Orchestre Metropolitain and the Opera de Montreal Chorus. Rigoletto is performed by a mainly Canadian cast including Montreal's very own mezzo-soprano Carolyn Sproule.
